Today I was babysitting the little girl from our neighbors. She told me that she wants to be a vet when she’s grown up. As it happens I‘m just doing an essay about that job for my biology class, so read some of my notes to her. I had also written down how much a vet gets paid in a month, and she asked me why there where different sections for men and woman. I wasn’t quite sure what to say, because there’s just no logical reason for that, that you could tell a 6 year old. Or actually there’s no logical reason at all. Honesty, I don’t know much about that topic, because I’ve never really informed myself and and (what a surprise) they don’t teach you anything about it in school. But I don’t think you should have to explain to a little girl why she’s going to get paid less then a men, if she’s doing the same job. And what, exactly, does your gender have to do with paychecks
She didn’t understand it and neither do I.
