I was at classical concert yesterday and it inspired me so much, that I decided to share some pieces, which I love with all my heart - and hopefully, make you fall in love with them too.

Dmitri Shostakovitch's Piano Concerto No.2: II. Andante

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlMHjo7Jwhk - this is played by his grandson -Dmitri Shostakovich Jr. - and conducted by Shostakovich's son Maxim. The most delicate recording I've ever heard.

I believe that this is one of the softest things in classical music. As said before, the recording is delightful.

Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 in E major, WAB 107: II. Adagio

or link to youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pioV8yB3iA&t=1218s - second movement starts at 19:40

This movement was written between January and April of 1883. Bruckner began to write this movement in anticipation of Wagner's death. It is sait that Bruckner wrote the cymbal clash at the climax of this movement upon hearing the news that Wagner had died.
But that's not all. This movement is also known because of its connection to the end of second World War in 1945 - the official announcement of Hitler's death on a German radio was accompanied by this movement. And it still astonishes me how beautiful it must have been to listen to this alluring piece in destroyed city, after the years of fear, knowing that it's finally over.

Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto: I. Allegro molto moderato

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxhrMUwLIvU - yet again, my favourite recording of all times.

I cannot tell you how much I adore this piece. I've heard it for the first time live yesterday, and I was genuinely astounded how great it is. Almost teared up a bit while clapping. My favourite piece in the world.
It has everything - playfulness, tenderness, the greatness. All in such a beautiful diversity and arrangement... the first chord always sends the chills through me - that's how good it is.
