green, neon, and grunge image

The vulpine nature of his soul
glowed ever brighter when his eyes glowed green.
He wore arrogance as his cloak,
marked his soul with charcoal
as if painting it black would make it clean
All it did was create a new slate
above a couple of tainted sheets
It could never set his sins straight
so he settled for defeat
And defeat was never just defeat-
It was covered up conceit,
The failure of elites,
The unwilling retreat.
and it was too much for a fox like him
too much
too damn much

TO THE BOY WHO WAS MORE FOX THAN BOY
