Growing up sucks.

My iPhone says that it's February 2018...which means not only am I 29 years old, but I've also been saying "growing up sucks" for about 12 years.

I'm not ready to give up and succumb to age just yet. I still think back to when I was a kid, waking up on Christmas morning. Everything was magical. There was nothing to worry about or be afraid of. Nothing would dent my mood or bring me down. Those holidays were special, and while I'm a little (lot) older - I'm determined to bring that magic back. Easter is right around the corner and here's how I'm planning to make it the best I possibly can!

Easter Egg Hunt (Boozy)

Getting old(er) isn't all that bad. In fact, one of the best things about growing up is being able to drink. What better way is there to enjoy an Egg Hunt than with friends over a drink or five. Better yet, there's no one telling you that you're eating too much chocolate! Instead, you just have to spend the remaining weeks until summer in tears as you work off the weight you put on over Easter.

New Outfits (Of Course)

I live in England, so if I'm really lucky there might be a ray or two of sunshine on Easter Sunday. That means I'll have an excuse to wear a dress! Any excuse to put on a pretty dress this Spring (https://www.elle.com/fashion/trend-reports/g12205305/spring-fashion-trends-2018/) is a welcome occasion these days as opportunities are few and far between. Of course, none of the dresses I currently own will be suitable for the day...which means I'll have to go and buy another one... what a shame!

Chocolate

I talked about chocolate briefly earlier on. But on second thoughts, I think it deserves its own section.

There's a reason why we celebrate Christmas, Valentine's Day, Birthdays and Easter with chocolate. That's because chocolate is scientifically proven to make you happy. That's right.

Chocolate was there on Christmas day when you were a kid. Hot chocolate was there on cold winter days when you got home from school. Mum left a box of chocolates on your pillow when you had your first breakup. It was there during your first Valentine's Day. There was chocolate cake when you got married!

What I'm trying to say is; you can't have happiness without chocolate. No...that's not right. You can't have Easter without chocolate!

Easter Tea

As the day winds to a close and everyone's feeling the effects of the day's events, there's no better time to butter up a few hot cross buns and relax while the sun goes down. It's probably best to start taking on liquids at this point anyway!

I've fallen in love with these Easter biscuits (https://www.biscuiteers.com/easter) last year and I'll be sure to break them out as the tea is being brewed to add the finishing touches to a wonderful day.

What do you have planned for yours?
