Sometimes you can't get to the gym and blast 500 kcals but you still want to get your workout in, even if it's shorter. It will still count and happily there are many things you can do to burn more calories throughout the day away from the gym.

1. WAKE UP A LITTLE EARLIER.

Do some jumping jacks, push-ups, squats, lunges or a quick circuit workout right when you wake up. It will speed up your metabolism, which means you will burn more calories throughout the whole day.

2.GET COOL.

Keep you room on a chilly temperature to melt more fat.

3. SQUAT DURING THE COMMERCIAL.

Everytime you watch TV, instead of waiting for the long commercials to end, stand up and squat or do some abs crunches. This will burn up to 50 kcals.

4. TAKE THE STAIRS.

Climbing up the stairs burns 11 calories per a minute and 7 calories climbing down.

5. DRINK MORE.

Drinking boosts your metabolism up to 5% so sip at least 7 cups of water everyday. Add lemon for an extra boost and fresh taste.

6. EAT MORE SPICY.

Chilly peppers and other spicy foods boost your metabolism and you burn more calories when you eat.
