Today i decided to write an article about the place where i was born and where i actually live: Argentina.

I realized that there is a lot of countries that i know so little or nothing about (it's embarrassing). So i thought that it would be great share with you some curiosities or just information about the beautiful Argentina, because always is good to learn new things and more exciting if it is about different cultures!

Let's get into it!

➳Where is Argentina?

Argentina is the country in Latin America that is located further south and it is the largest spanish-speaking nation. The country is bordered by Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Brasil and Uruguay. Argentina's capital is Buenos Aires.


  • We drink mate. It is like a tea or infusion that prepared with herb, hot water and sugar. Some foreigners think that it is a kind of drug but it isn't. (In Wikipedia there is a better explanation)


  • Argentine wine is one of the world's finest and we love it! The wine is produced mainly in the province of Mendoza.
  • Empanadas A small stuffed pastry that can be prepared with meat, vegetables, cheese, and other many ingredients.

  • Dulce de leche It literally means "Sweet of milk" or "Jam of milk". Is one of the most characteristic foods of Argentina. It is very similar to Nutella and pretty sweet.
  • Asado The argentine barbecue.
  • Alfajores Shortbread cookies sandwiched together with chocolate, dulce de leche or a fruit paste.

➳Touristic places

📌Teatro Colón

Located in Buenos Aires it is ranked the third best opera house in the world and is acoustically considered to be amongst the five best concert venues in the world. In the theater you can enjoy operas, ballets, singers and orchestras that come from all over the world. It has a beautiful architecture influenced by European style and is one of the most emblematic buildings in Argentina.

📌Glaciar Perito Moreno

Is a glacier located in the "Los Glaciares National park" in Santa Cruz province. It is one of the most important tourist atracttions in the Argentinian Patagonia. Such a beautiful place to breathe and admire the nature.

Tour companies offer two "mini-trekking" tours that consist of a short walk on the ice of about an hour and half, and a more long version, which is usually about five hours.

📌Caminito street, La Boca

La Boca is a neighborhood of the capital, Buenos Aires. It has a big European influence because many of its early settlers being from Italian city of Genova.

Caminito is a colorful part of the neighborhood full of picturesque houses, cafes, shops and tango performers. It is a place that really represents and celebrates Argentine culture.

📌Cueva de las manos

Cueva de las manos (Cave of hands) is a serie of caves located in the province of Santa Cruz. It is a big touristic place (ang gets its name from) for the paintings of hands that dates from 13000 or 9000 years ago. The art by the ancestors of the Tehuelche people who inhabit this part of Argentina so many years ago.

It is a true proof that art and the need to express ourselves are with us since ever.

➳Customs and traditions

  • We love fotball
  • We meet with the family almost every Sunday to eat asado.
  • We greet each other with a kiss on the cheek. Even if you don't know someone you have to do it, is for being polite.
