Lately I've had some bad luck, and the weather has been really dreary and rainy for the past week, and it's got me feeling less than my best. Here are the best things you can do when you're feeling not so great:

1) Indulge.

If you've been having a craving, give in a little bit. Have some chocolate or a dessert. It's important not to deprive yourself. Even when things aren't great, you still work hard and you still deserve a treat.

2) Balance

However, it's important not to totally binge and eat your emotions when you're feeling down. Do limit your indulgences. Take care of yourself! Make sure you still get enough sleep, eat good (nutritious) food, and hydrate!

3) Comfort

Make yourself comfortable. Wrap yourself in a soft blanket. Read a book or watch a feel-good movie. Light some candles. Talk to a friend or hang out with friends.

4) Present

Sometimes it can make you feel better to get yourself a small gift. It's important buy something that you've really been wanting/needing for a while so that I'm not just wasting money on something just because I'm sad. It also shouldn't be something super expensive - now is not the time for an impulse buy.

5) Journal / Plan

It always helps me to get my thoughts out. I can't relax or stop thinking until I've written down my thoughts. This can help you move on from negative thoughts. If that's not enough sometimes it helps to come up with a plan of what you can do next, and write that down, too. Then you have something positive to work toward :)
