Although I'm still doing my second year of university I think I can give some pieces of advice, so I can apply them for myself also hehe.

1. Don't be afraid

Don't enter universiy fearing the social aspects of it.

  • You're going to make friends, you just need to approach people with your best smile
  • Even if you don't end up making friends, you know your classes and you know what to do and where to go
  • At the end of the day you are there studying, so don't worry and let everything flow

2. Ask for notes

This is specially important if you are planning on not attending all of the classes. There's going to be some professors who don't like putting their notes online just so they make sure you go to class. But as long as you ask older people for the notes you need, you don't have to worry about this.

I would recommend attending all of the practical classes

3. Get Organised

Get a planner and organise the studying hours throughout the week and month (most importantly on examination period).

  • DO NOT leave all the studying for the las few days, you are not going to be able to make it, so you're not going to pass (it always happens the first semester)

4. Social-media free

When studying put the phone away, don't go on any social media for an hour and then do a 5 minutes social media break. This will make it much easier for you to keep a study routine.

5. Wake up early/ Go to bed late

It is convenient that you know whether you can study better: mornings or nights. Personally, I prefere studying at night because I'm alredy active, and in the morning I find it quite hard to wake up early. Stick to this routine throughout your career.

6. Eat well

If you have to spend all day in the campus everyday, bring your own cooked food. Don't rely on the cafeteria everyday to eat, specially on examination period, when you are forced to be sit down for a really long time.

7. Have fun

Don't forget to have fun, go partying, go out with your new friends on the weekends, prepare house gatherings, even study sessions with your new group. Feeling you belong to a group of good people will make everithing much easier (if you do end up making a new group of friends)
