Hey, beautiful hearters and Smilers! I hope you had a great weekend! Today I'm making a new article for this project, one we have yet to make and I think it's about time we make one. This is a faith-based article, where I take a passage from the Bible that spoke out to me. We'll study it together and find a way to share it with the world and how to incorporate it into our message of positivity.

For those who aren't of the Christian faith or don't have a faith, no worries. We're still going to have you involved in this article by giving you a fun little activity at the end. So if you don't have a faith or you're faith is different than mine, then go ahead and jump to the bottom. For the rest of you, I hope this speaks to you in a wonderful way and we'll have an article like this maybe once a week. Now without further ado, let's get into this, shall we?

Today's passage comes from 1 Thessalonians 5. During my senior year of high school, this passage was discussed at the fall retreat I went to that year. There were some verses that stood out to me that I would love to share with you. Now in the case that you catch something along the way, or I do so as well, I'm going to rewrite the whole passage and bold the verses that stuck out to me. So here we go.

1 Thessalonians 5

"1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, 'Peace and safety', destruction will come on them suddenly, as labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

"4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 10 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

"12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject any kind of evil.

"23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

"25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26 Greet all God's people with a holy kiss. 27 I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

"28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you."

That was quite a passage, wasn't it? The verses I have bolded are bolded in the mindset of thankfulness, kindness, and patience. As Smilers, and God's children, we are called to love one another. We're called to be there for one another and be kind to one another. #TheSmileProject isn't just about smiles. It's about spreading the kindness, spreading the light, spreading the joy. So let's all join together and share our light.

Poll Time

I didn't forget about you, other Smilers. This last part is for everyone (if you choose to participate). Every day on #TheSmileProject's website (well, starting today), we are having a daily poll. This will help get you a little more involved in the project, especially if you're not an official team member. This is how it works, go to www.huntkaym.wixsite.com/thesmileproject and fill out our poll (even leave us a little message in the blue message box or a comment on our blog page if you'd like).

There's a second part to this. With whatever choice you choose from the poll, share a story (it can be really short if you like) to help show what a small thing can do to help you smile. We'll pick a story we liked the most and put it up in an article for some tips and tricks (hint: the poll is about how to relieve stress).

Art Time

For those not interested in the poll, we have something else for you. We need more quotes and more #TheSmileProject covers. Make your own (if you have a background picture make sure it is a picture you took yourself) cover or quote for the project. Here are some examples:

When finished, post it here, use #TheSmileProject and send it to me. We'll pick our favorite ones (if covers) and will use every quote you make. You're part of the project too even if you aren't on the team.

That's all loves. Like always, message me for more information on the project and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day and week.
