Hi Guys,

If you've been following me for awhile you'll know I've written so many skincare articles but because over the last 6-7 months, I've been trying heaps of different products just to figure out what really works for my skin and to set down a really good routine.

If you are interested in any of the products I use, I'll leave the links at the end of the article.

Disclaimer: because you know it's the internet. This is just what I do and what works for my skin blah blah and you should also do your research about products and your own skin before experimenting with products.

My Skin:

It is oily to combination. Not really that sensitive at all. I use to have really bad hormonal acne and cystic acne. That's all cleared up now (I will be doing an article on my acne story so keep an eye out for that if you're interested).
I don't wear foundation or anything like that. I only wear eye make up. I find it makes my skin really congested and I break out more. I only tend to breakout on my t zone around that time of the month.

Morning Routine:

  • I shower in the morning so in the shower, I wet my face with warm water (not hot). I use my Ethique In Your Face Cleansing bar (this really helps to keep my acne at bay. Its also good for bacne as well). I rinse it off with cold water either in the shower or splash it on when I get out. Cold water is good for the entire body not just your face.
  • I pat my face dry with a clean towel. I then apply with a cotton pad my aloe vera calming toner from the body shop. (Review coming on this soon)
  • If I have a spot I will dab a little bit of aloe vera gel on it once the toner has dried which helps to bring the spot out and dry it up. I just basically use it as a spot treatment and it works really well.
  • Once the toner has dried and or the aloe vera gel I apply my moisturizer. I use the Sukin oil balancing moisturizer.
  • I wait for the moisturizer to sink in and then I apply an eye gel by Natio.

Night Routine:

  • My night time routine is the same as in the morning minus the eye cream and sunscreen. So Ethique cleansing bar, aloe vera calming toner and Sukin moisturizer.
  • The differences are I exfoliate my skin at the most 4 times a week. I use the Spin for Perfect Skin brush by Vanity Planet with just the normal cleansing brush head with my Ethique cleansing bar. I use the brush three times a week Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday to be precise as this is the time I put on a mask.
  • The other times I exfoliate are just whenever I feel my skin needs a little boost between mask days so usually Friday or Saturday. I use the oil balancing pore refining facial scrub.
  • Once I have exfoliated or just cleansed I'll tone and apply moisturizer.

The Sand and Sky Face mask and the skinfood mud masque.
  • I only use two at the moment but I'm always looking for more. One is the Sand and Sky Face Mask.
  • The other one is the Skinfoods mud masque.
  • I also like the Sukin masques I have tried the oil balancing one in the past and I think the next one I'm going to get is the Super Greens Detoxifying Facial Masque.
  • I suggest researching for a specific ingredient that might help with your skin. Mine happens to be aloe vera gel.
  • Don't just apply sunscreen to your face, remember the ears, arms, legs, feet, and hands.
  • Try to do a masque once a week in the bath. I noticed when I use the Skinfood mud masque in the bath my skin looked so much better than it did when I didn't use it in the bath.

They are all in order of mention.
