Hello, my fellow WeHeartists!

So here's today new article of the week for you to enjoy. I've been thinking a lot about how so many of us struggle to be confident every day, myself included. Life is rough at times and there are many times where I honestly have no clue what's going on. However, I'm going to give you 10 ways to help you be more confident in everyday life. I can't guarantee them working 100% but I hope you find them as helpful as I do!

1. Love Yourself and Embrace Every Single Part of Who You Are!

"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken." -Oscar Wilde

It saddens me to no end how it's more socially acceptable for people to say, "I hate my eyes," "I'm too fat," or, "I am so not worth it." GIRL PLEASE YOU ARE SO WORTH THE FREAKING UNIVERSE AND MORE AND DON'T YOU EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE! For years, I struggled so heavily with self-hatred until one day, I woke up and realized that I was too exhausted to be so negative. From then on, I took the long and slow road of self-love that I still work on to this day. Please, please, PLEASE believe me that you are so important and lovable and worthy of anything you want. Believe it or not, there are people who love you just how you are and wish they had the guts to be themselves like you do. Embrace everything about you, both good and bad, and life will be so much rewarding with positive energy and positive people.

2. Fake it Until You Make It!

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." -T.S. Elliot

You've heard this quote a billion times over but it's one of the truest things ever! Just keep going and keep pushing yourself to be a better person than you were yesterday. If the one thing you do today is getting out of bed, that is terrific and just keep going, no matter how long it takes. Look at yourself in the mirror, say, "I can handle today," and go on your way! Dress in what makes you confident, get prepared and pumped with some awesome songs like "That's My Girl" By Fifth Harmony or "Me Too" By Meghan Trainor, and go kick butt!

3. Realize That There Will Be Bad Times and You Will Fail...But That's Okay!

"I've survived a lot of things and I'll probably survive this." -J.D. Salinger

I can't promise you that life will always go how you want and that you'll always be happy. There will be times where nothing seems to be going right and no matter how hard you try, nothing works out. And you know what? It's okay because eventually, things ARE going to get better and you WILL succeed. After all, there has to be some rain before a rainbow can appear. :)

4. Believe in the Power of Positive Energy and Self Care!

"Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be." -Abraham Lincoln

There is something extremely healing when you have positive energy in your life that nothing else can top. Find things that make you happy, no matter how small and stick with them. Avoid people/things that give off bad vibes or drain your energy as YOU come first! Treat yourself and take care of yourself since you only have one body. Do what's healthy and beneficial to you, things that you enjoy and don't give a darn what other people have to say about it. People tend to make happiness a lot harder to achieve than it is. However, things like baking cookies, laughing, smiling, or simply taking a walk outside can make you happy. Plus this dog right here, too.

5. Enjoy the Things You Are Passionate About and Ignore the Critics!

"Nothing can dim the light that shines from within." -Maya Angelou

So you may be obsessed with this band that no one else has heard about. You may still be a passionate fan of Disney movies and all things regarding flowers. You may love Wes Anderson films or all things Shakespeare. You may be passionate about things only you know about and things that go against the norms of society, or (dare I say it?) are things that people criticize because they don't understand.

And what do I say to everyone who is a little low-key obsessed with something that may be odd to someone else?

STAY OBSESSED AND LOVE IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART SINCE IT MAY BE THE ONE THING KEEPING YOU ALIVE IN THIS WORLD! This comes from a hardcore fangirl (feel free to look at my Fandoms, Harry Potter, Superwholock, Disney, etc. collections if you don't believe me) whose fandoms have been a huge part of her life. My fandoms/passions for odd things like Arctic Monkeys and Shakespeare have shaped who I am today and eventually connected me with other people, like fellow WeHeartists! Be passionate about every little thing you like and screw people who judge you for it. Someone loves to see your eyes light up when you talk about the things you love.

6. If All Else Fails, Smile!

"All happiness depends on courage and hard work." -Honore de Balzac

Smile! No, seriously, give a smile! Smiling releases a hormone called serotonin in your brain, which is associated with mood balance and keeping calm. If you feel weird smiling at yourself in the mirror (too "Silence of the Lambs" for you), try smiling at a caregiver, a sibling, a friend, a pet, or even a total stranger. Most of the time, people will give a smile back to you and let it sink into your heart and give you the warm fuzzies. Here's some smiles for you to start: :-) :) :-) :)

7. Laugh and Find Humor in Your Life!

"What do we live for if not to make life less difficult for each other?" -George Eliot

My favorite thing to do is to laugh and to make others laugh. I have an odd sense of humor as I can find the stupidest things funny and I'm as sarcastic as they come. Shows like "The Office" and "Seinfeld" are some of my favorites as I never fail to laugh every episode I watch. When I make others laugh, it makes me laugh and assures me that people like me just for being myself. If I have that, I feel I can take on the world!

8. Become Closer to Being a Well-Rounded and Educated Person Every Day!

"Education is not the filing of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -William Butler Yeats

I can't emphasize enough how important having an education is, not just for school/work but of people and life itself. If you're curious about something, research it until you have the answers you need and then share that information with someone else. Don't focus solely on things you agree/are comfortable with; explore topics you've never encountered or understand opinions you might disagree with. You don't have to agree with every opinion of every person BUT you need to respect their opinion. A teacher once taught me how you should disagree and argue with the idea, NOT a person themselves. Try to be informed of as much as you can and don't act like you are right and know everything. When you become educated and passionate about topics that particularly interest you, you can be confident enough to present your feelings and correct other people's inaccuracies. Go get your education and you will be working for a better life for yourself!

9. Remember How Much You Are Loved and What You Bring to the Table!

quotes, stars, and worth image quotes, yellow, and stars image quotes, motivation, and self love image quotes, nice, and words image
"Be strong, you never know who you are inspiring."

Regardless of how you feel, I can tell you that there's at least one person in your life that LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW! The people in your life are cheering you on and fighting for you to have the best future possible. It may take you a while to see it (or to encounter it) but these people are there for you always and love you just how you are. Your family, extended family, family friends, friends, teachers, coaches, a significant other, basically any positive figure in your life, love you in ways you might not realize. You don't need to have a bae to feel worthy of love as love comes in more forms than simply romance with one other person. And remember that not all of those fairytale couples have the perfect relationships and sometimes relationships can be harmful with the wrong person. You will fall in love and spend the rest of your life with your soulmate but focus, FOCUS on being the best version of yourself and KNOW YOU ARE WORTHY OF BEING LOVED IN THE RIGHT WAY FOR THE RIGHT REASON!

10. Set Goals for Your Future and Don't Be Afraid to Work Hard for Them!

"In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can." -Willa Cather

Think of someone you really REALLY admire, whether they are alive/dead, fictional/real. One person I admire is Rocky Balboa, the main character from the "Rocky", a poor Italian-American boxer who works hard to get a shot at the world heavyweight championship. Here was this nobody who worked his butt off to prove to the world he deserved a chance and was worthy of that title. Even though things didn't work out the way he wanted, what inspired me about Rocky was how he KEPT GOING and didn't quit, despite all the critics telling him to do so. In order to have the life you want and to accomplish your dreams, you have to be willing to WORK HARD. And push yourself beyond what you think you can handle. And then keep going! Failure is inevitable but what's worse: never ever trying to be great due to fear of failing or trying but not succeeding? Keep pushing yourself and working hard at school/work/your goals and don't lose heart when things get tricky. Just remember: If it was easy, everyone would do it.

BIG SHOUT OUT to #TheSmileProject for spreading a positive message on WeHeartIt, I'm so looking forward to being apart of it. Check it out!

Thank you, my lovelies, for reading this article and for giving it so much love! I hope it helps you in some way and know that I believe in you! You are so amazing! Message me what you think and have an awesome day! :)
