Valentine´s Day is just 3 days away, so here I am, once again, writing my third article for my Valentine´s series, which started two days ago. In case you haven´t read it, I´m basically writing an article till Valentine´s Day.

And for today, I decided to write about how is Valentine´s day celebrated all around the world, it was kinda hard to find information since we all celebrated pretty much the same way, but there were something that caught my attention and were quite interesting.

The world is full of different traditions and customs, even for this romantic holiday. So keep reading if you want to know how is Valentine´s Day celebrated around the world.

They have an interesting tradition, every year, around 2000 couples get together to kiss, marry and even renew their vows. Each year there´s more and more couples, making this, their biggest Valentine´s tradition.

In Irak they use to give to their loved ones apples spiced with cloves alluding the story of Adam and Eve. If wanted, they can also give apple pies also with cloves.

Argentina used to celebrate Valentine´s Day, or as they call it, Día de los enamorados, on September 21st, but a couple of years ago they changed to the day that we all know. But they don´t celebrate it with hearts or sending cards to their loved ones. And they exchange candies for kisses.

Their Valentine´s Day, which is actually called Qi Xi, is based on a beautiful love story between a shepherd and a seamstress that fell in love, but couldn´t be together because of Jade´s wife, the supreme, who forbid them to be together, and made them live the rest of their lives without each other.

Thousands of couples wait for the opportunity to get married on the 80th floor of the Empire State, but there´s just seven lucky couples that get chosen to celebrate their wedding at the magnificent place. Also, they receive a free pass that can be used every year on Valentine´s Day.

In México we do some sort of secret Santa, but of course as a Valentine´s version. And it´s not only about giving cards, for example with my friends, we make a list of candies that we like and the person who got you has to get you the ones you chose. I don´t know if they do this in other countries as well, but for what I read, I think we are the only ones.

❥ 𝓓𝓮𝓷𝓶𝓪𝓻𝓴.

This is one of my favorites. In Denmark men give to the woman they love a joky card with a funny poem, but if the woman finds who sent her the card, he receives an egg for Easter, kinda weird but I think it´s really funny.

❥ 𝓘𝓽𝓪𝓵𝔂.

Another one of my favorites. The Italians go to a park and read to their loved ones, a love poem and listen to music. I don´t think it can get more romantic than that.

Something fun that they do is that the single women look outside their windows at midnight and the first man that passes by will be the love of their lives. Of course not all of them do it, and of course it´s not true, it´s just something fun that they do on Valentine´s Day.
