I know I could have anything under the moon for this answer, and there are more important things in the world to be concerned about but;

I do not believe in the death penalty. I am strongly, strongly against it. I do not believe any prisoner should be killed for their actions.

Don’t get me started on prison life in general. I think it is a disgrace. Don’t get me wrong, the prisoners should of course get punished, but the system is getting it all wrong. They ( the prisoners ) need to be in some ways, nurtured.

But they are getting treated inhumanly.
I am in no way shape or form defending their actions but I believe if they are truly willing to change they should be given the best opportunity possible.

Prison life is a mess, it is terrible. No wonder 59% of prisoners, in the UK, re-offend within 12 months of release.

I’m going to come out and say that a good majority of my family have did prison time.
In particular my father. He has serious mental disorders. He repeatedly re-offends, but do I still love him; yes, without a shadow of a doubt.

It destroys people.
All it does is make them weaker AND DEPENDENT!
So many prisoners who serve long sentences are so used to the routine life, and daily life of prison - getting fed and having a roof. That when they come out they don’t know how to handle the real world, so they on purpose re-offend to get back into prison.

That may seem crazy to you, but it honestly happens ALL THE TIME.

I don’t expect the prisoners to get 5* treatment, obviously, but the living conditions they have is disgusting.
So small. It could turn a sane man crazy.

Also can I just say - the whole atmosphere of the cells, and blocks would just increase the paranoia of the prisoners. Which not even for their benefit but for ours, extreme paranoia = extreme actions.

What I also find funny is the fact that these criminals are all packed into very close proximity.
Like yes, this is the way to go, putting mentally ill, disturbed minds together.
Nothing good comes from that.

I just despise the prison life, it truly is survival of the fittest.
