Hey everybody, welcome to my second article! First off, thank you so so much to everybody that read/hearted/reacted to my last article, it means a lot! Anyways, I love to read and in 2017 I read 52 books (I'm so proud of myself haha) and I thought I would share with you my favorite books out of the ones I read! I have seen booktubers do this, but I don't have a youtube channel, so I'm doing it on here! Also, I have given all of these 5 stars on GoodReads and since it was SO hard to choose just 8, I have a few honorable mentions at the end :) p.s. these are in order.

8. The Diary of Anne Frank

I would be pretty surprised if you haven't heard of Anne Frank before. She was a Jewish girl during World War 2. Her and her family had to go into hiding in a tiny annex with one other family and another man. This is the incredible, powerful story of Anne Frank's life during the war. She somehow managed to keep a diary and it is fascinating. This book has a ton of history and a lot of messages that everybody should know and read.

7. Gone by Michael Grant

This is a Supernatural, Horror, Science fiction, Dystopia, Thriller ( ik thats a lot but that is what Google says lol) YA novel. One day, students of Perdido Beach high school are in class, the next they are stuck in a dome and everybody over the age of 15 is gone...poof, just like that. Now, everybody must figure out how to survive, plus dealing with weird mutations. This is a series of 6 books and I am on the last one and I don't want it to end tbh. I am totally lost in the world of FAYZ and I love the writing so much.

6. Warcross by Marie Lu

This story follows a woman named Emika Chen who is a bounty hunter in New York City. A virtual reality game called Warcross has completely taken over the world, people are playing and talking about it nonstop. Emika is also a great hacker, so when she hacks into the Warcross championship games, her life changes forever. I started reading this on Christmas Eve and of course, it was Christmas and I couldn't stop reading. This book has been getting A TON of hype in the book world and now I completely understand why.

5. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Holy smokes this book is great. Fangirl is about a girl named Cath and she has a twin sister named Wren. Cath likes to stay in and write fan fiction while Wren likes to go out and party. This is her journey through college and love. I love this book a lot. My favorite genre is Contemporary (I'm literally obsessed) and this was definitely a great one:) the characters were SO relatable and I loved watching Cath's journey through college. Definitely a great read!

4. Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

This book holds a special place in my heart since it is the one that got me into reading! I read this in January and after that, kept on reading! This is a Wizard of Oz retelling where Dorothy is evil and she has to die. Amy is a high school student with a pretty crappy life and she is sent on this mission. There are 3 other books in the series (I actaully haven't read the most recent one oops) and they are fantastic! I love story retellings and this was amazing :)

3. The Selecton by Kiera Cass

Honestly, the whole series counts since they were all great. This is a series set in the future when the United States is completely different. Once Prince Maxon turns 16, there is a selection held at the palace. The selection is a process where 32 girls come to the palace and Prince Maxon will find a find a wife. America Singer, a young girl in love with Aspen is chosen and now her life is completely flipped around. You will not be able to put these books down. (p.s.my fav dress is the crown.

2. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

1. All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

This is also my favorite book of all time. Get ready for an emotional roller coaster. Violet Markey and Theodore Finch meet at the top of the bell tower at school, both intending to jump. They end up saving each other. Now, this book's main topic is mental health, so is that is triggering to you, stay away. Violet's sister died in a car crash the year before and she has never been the same. As her world expands, Finch's closes. SO. GOOD.
