One of the hardest things we can do as a human is trust God. The world tells us that we need to build our own future and hold ourselves up, but as Christians we know that any peace and true stability in our lives is from God. He is described as an "everlasting rock" that will be there for us always.

But I will bless the person who puts his trust in me. (Jeremiah 17:7)

There are many times in the bible where we see people not trusting God. One time is when Rebecca and Abraham didn't think they would have a son because they were too old, yet God did provide them with a son (Genesis 22). Another time was when Joseph was sold into slavery, but God would make him king over all of Egypt (Genesis 37). If you want to, you can watch "King of Dreams" on Netflix, about the story of Joseph. It's a great movie, even if you're not religious!! Also watch Prince of Egypt, another amazing story about trusting God to make things better. Knowing that God has helped these people and has kept his promises, it can encourage us to put more trust in Him.

Romans 15 :13- Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

As God says in Matthew 6:26-34, the birds don't worry about what they will eat or drink. They simply trust that God will provide for them. Why wouldn't God do the same for you? You are worth much more than birds. God loves you so much more than you can ever imagine. A father does everything he can to give their child the best future because He loves them. With God as our father, of course He will provide for us because He is the creator and He is love.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight

If you tell God what you want, you'll build a better relationship with Him and establish a trust in Him that He can provide these things for you or that He can decide that these things aren't right for you. He wants you to pray to Him and tell him your desires. I've prayed for things like a cat and a friend, and God has given them to me.

Some people find it hard to trust God because many bad things happen in the world. If God is in charge, why does He let these things happen? Why would I trust Him if He lets these things happen? God created humans so that we could love Him, but we had to choose to love Him. Since we were self-centered, selfish and prideful, things that aren't of God, evil was created. When people choose to sin, it hurts innocent people. We can choose what we do, and God lets us do evil if we choose to because He gives us a choice. Our free will from God can make bad things happen. He is not the source of evil and suffering, sin is.

Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Prov. 30:5

Or in other words, putting our trust in things that aren't eternal. There's a study that shows that people have the same happiness before they won the lottery and after they won the lottery. Things like a new job or being beautiful is great, but they only provide a temporary happiness because God is the only one who can give us true peace when we trust in Him.

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8

As I said before, God gives us a choice. If we don't trust Him, He can't fulfill all that He wants to in your life. Things always turn out alright in the end, you just have to endure them, having faith that God has more for you.

Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

God says that those who are going through rough times should rejoice because once they are over, they will have grown stronger and they will have more faith in God. Trust that He has a great future for you.

James 1:12- Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Trusting God doesn't come from us. We have to pray to God that we can surrender everything in our lives to Him. God says ask and you will receive. God has answered my prayers, and He will answer yours.

Matthew 11:28-29- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
