I started reading this book because of the new movie, which I watched and in my opinion isn't as good as the original, but that's not important right now. You've probably seen the movie (and possibly read the book) but the movie is missing a lot.

It starts off with a young boy named George Denbrough who is playing with his paper boat his brother, William "Stuttering Bill" Denbrough, made for him. There had been a rain storm that lasted days, but while Georgie was chasing after his boat, it was to fast and fell into a sewer. Georgie looked in the sewer and a strange clown appeared. He began talking to this clown and when he offered Georgie his boat back, Georgie gladly attempted to take it, but before he could something beyond his worst nightmare happened. His arm was ripped from his body and eaten. By the time his neighbour got to him, Georgie was already dead. This is an iconic scene from the movies and the book. It has a lot of importance even though it's a small part.

Seven young outcasts in Derry, Maine, are about to face their worst nightmare-- an ancient shape-shifting evil that emerges from the sewer every 27 year to prey on the town's children. Banding together over the course of one horrifying summer, the friends must overcome thier own personal fear to battle the murderous, bloodthirsty clown known as Pennywise the dancing clown. This is a breif synopsis of the summer of 1958; the summer when they're age 10-12.

27 years later when all of 'The Losers Club' members are adults, the killings start up again, and they're all brought together from a blood oath to fight It. They face challeneges other than just Pennywise such as their partners and their old bully, Henry Bowers who escaped a mental hospital in order to kill them all

By the end of it, many of their memories of the event fade away and Bill manages to get his wife Audra out of her catatonic state Pennywise put her in.

So I know this was short but I didn't want to give anything away because I highly suggest reading the book. It is approx. 1153 pages long and is definitly worth it!

Happy reading!
