It’s really easy to get addicted to Cassandra’s books. The world building is really vivid and in-depth, plus you can’t help but root for the characters she creates because they’re so likeable and relatable. I read the entire Mortal Instruments series in a week, her writing is that good. As well as this, all her book series are set in the shadow world, but they all tell very different but amazing stories. Overall, you won’t regret reading any of her books, you’ll end up getting totally invested in the stories and characters she writes about.

If you’re a fan of the show Once Upon A Time, you’ll really love her books. Marissa has written an entire series based on the premise of totally switching up classic fairytales. She has taken classic characters like Cinderella and Rapunzel, put them in a futuristic setting and pitted them against an evil queen. The classic stories are still the same, but with a few twists thrown in. I absolutely love the characters, the story, everything about this series. Marissa’s writing is really good, and I love how she’s turned fairytales completely on their head.
Notable Books: The Lunar Chronicles, Heartless

I love the books she writes because I feel as though she’s basically combined a coming of age film and a rom-com and put it in book form. They’re really witty, but also real - they revolve around everything from second chances, friendships and relationships. The stories that she creates always make me smile, laugh and generally really happy. Every time I finish one of her books, I just get a warm feeling inside - I would definitely read anything she wrote.
