Hey guys, it's Yasmin here and in this article, I will be giving you guys some tips on how to get out of a rut. I wanted to make this article because during the past couple of weeks, I haven't really been really myself. I haven't been as motivated or inspired to do things that I wanted or needed to do, which is really annoying because being in this rut led to me spending the first month of 2018 uninspired and just weird. It got me thinking, we all have these phases when we are like this and I always thought it was one of those things you have to live through and wait for the storm to pass, but you don't need to wait, I didn't. You and only you has control of your life, so I came up with some tips so you can regain the control in your life so you can be the best version of yourself you can possibly be. I hope you find these tips helpful, enjoy....

It could've been a bad experience, somebody's negativity towards you, you failed at something, something didn't work out the way you wanted, life circumstances or you simply just burned yourself out from so much work and/or stress. Whatever it is that has you in this awkward funk, identify it. A lot of the time, what helps us get out of these things and what helps us cope with ruts is to identify the problem. A lot of the time, we have these things that happen in our lives, and instead of facing our challenges and failures, we internalise them or push them aside or try and forget about them. I'll be honest, that is the worst way to cope with these challenging things that we encounter. They are not just going to go away because you ignore them, you have to face every hurdle that may come up in your life, and that is the first thing to do to get over them and prevent them from having an effect over you. Anything you may experience, face it and avoid putting it off before it gets bigger and bigger.

I always feel that with anything in life, if you're going through something negative, it always helps to just do something differently. And this can manifest itself in many different ways, it can be a change in diet, changing how you go about your day, changing your environment somehow. Whatever it is, just change up something. You are always one step/decision from changing your life, so if you decide to change up your routine, you are essentially changing up your life, which will help you get out of your rut.

If you are currently reading this article and you are actually in a rut as you are reading this, you have already done this tip. It can be reading articles, watching YouTube videos, talking to other people and learning from people. Don't get stuck by yourself and with your own thoughts. Everybody has different experiences in life and we can learn from each other so, if you are going through something, odds are someone has already gone thorugh that too. Don't stay stagnant and don't be afraid to seek help. Don't be afraid to ask questions, asking questions helps you stimulate your mind.

What is it in life that truly sets you on fire? Is it a book, a movie, a site, or a person that motivates you? Is there a certain lifestyle you would like to have? Are there certain goals that you would like to achieve? Always go towards what inspires you and what motivates you. If nothing inspires you, that's when you know you need to make a change and find new inspiration and get out of the bubble you are in. If something isn't working in your life, you need to change that thing. Try new things and develop new hobbies and interests. Research on how to achieve success. Do something that will bring back your inspiration or inspire you further.

Now that you've hopefully found your inspiration, you are ready to change something in your life, you have ideintified what has got you into a rut in the first place, now is time to make a plan and put that plan into action. A plan can be various things, it can be writing down what you are going to accomplish in a day/week/month/year, and prioritise these things and make sure you get your priorities done first. Stick to your plans, even if you are not a very big planner, just try it out, I never used to plan a lot but I decided to plan out my life and now I feel organised, productive and motivated to achieve my goals.
