1. Inform myself

book Superthumb

The first thing i do when classes start, is asking professors
a)what books we have to study (because they may not match those on the site);
b) if there are chapters we have to skip and which are.
This is a very important thing to do because it helps you understand how much work you have to do and if it will take a lot or few time.

2. Organize the work

motivation apple

At home with all the possible calm i take all the books of all the subjects and one at a time i do the following:
a) count the chapters;
b) decide how many chapter i want to summarize per day, trying to use as little time as possible, considering all the other subjects.

3. Summaries

Superthumb book

This is a part that seems to take away lots of time and sometimes you will ask yourself why you are wasting time doing this. Well, let me tell you that at the end, when you will have to actually study those things in less than 2 weeks, it's better do it on 20 pages than 200. Isn't it?
Every single day of the semester, on the train, in the library or at home, i take the book and i write down the most important notions, eliminating all the superfluous and try to write those notions in a way i can easily understand.
Usually i use the computer, it is faster. Than i print everything.

4. Days Organization

agenda Superthumb

Once i finished summarize all the books and so all the subjects, it is probably time to study.
I usually give myself two weeks. 10 days to study, 5 to review.
First thing i do, i decide how many pages/chapters i want to study every day.
An important thing in this step is to set REAL goals. Don't overdo, you know your limits, organize yourself according to them. I usually set less chapters than the ones i could really do, so it seems i study faster. In this way i feel myself productive and satisfied.

5. Repeat and make schemes

Usually i divide my work in chapters, so that after i read, repeat and repeat again, i can make a scheme to remind me the key-words.
It will be so helpful when you will have to review things, it is so much faster than browse every single page.

6. Integrate Notes

At the and of the process the last thing is to watch the notes you took in class, because it will help you understand what the professor is more interested in. You are not forced to study them but to me it is important to read them and understand them.

SO THIS IS MY WAY TO STUDY FOR EXAMS.
HOPE IT WILL HELP SOMEONE OUT.
