Howdy, fellas.

Nowadays everyone is basically obssesed over to do lists. „Places I want to go“, „Things I want to achieve“... and on and on. But in my personal opinion, TO DO LISTS ARE WOTHLESS.

Before you open your mouth, let me tell ya the reasons:

1. It sets you apart from truly achieving your goal

You are concentrated into doing the list that you forget or skip the most important part – to actually fulfill it. In other way, you feel satisfaction imaging how cool you‘re going to be after getting all this stuff and your brain gets a signal that you already have it, in order you lose motivation.

2. It creates barriers

2018 just had a head start, so let‘s say you have a list. (eheh, which you probably do) and it‘s called pretty basic: „New years resolutions“. You have a goal called „Learn chinese language“. It‘s a really nice idea when you think about it but what if you‘ll feel after a while that it‘s not your thing? Maybe you are more drawn to learn afrikaans or not even really keen on languages. But nooo, you have it on your list, now you have to force yourself to draw an X near to it.

3. You lose the opportunity to be spontaneous

I was once addicted to making to do lists and felt grumpy all the time about the goals I couldn‘t make it. Even more, I lost the opportunity to think outside the box and accept new things just because they weren‘t on my list. Quitting this was the best feeling in my life! You never know what might hit ya, you’re a wild animal ain’t nobody telling you what to do! (Yeah, even you)

YOU ARE LIVING IN THE PRESENT MOMENT BECAUSE YOU DON‘T THINK ABOUT FUTURE GOALS ALL THE TIME

Isn‘t that what is so called „freedom“? I guess it is.

In the end, if you‘re obsessed over bucket lists don‘t get offended, make whatever makes you happy.

Idk. Bye
