I feel like the weheartit community is all about empowering women and lifting each other up for support, never pushing them down for anything. Beauty pageants on the other hand, seem to objectify women. It gives women or girls an unrealistic perspective on how women should act and be like that. I mean they have judges to judge on your talents and on how you wear an outfit. There are requirements as well if you want to become a contestant. You have to give up a lot of things in life and I don't know if any of us a ready for that, I know I'm not.

Beauty pageant set an unrealistic perspective about women especially their bodies. I mean how is this any good for little girls telling them that in order to be a girl or a woman you must be skinny and perfect. NO one is perfect last time I checked and every girl should be their own they shouldn't be like others, wearing dresses and pretty tiaras everyone is unique in their own way don't you think? Giving an unrealistic perspective on women to little girls shouldn't be acceptable at all, France has actually banned children beauty pageants because it sexualises children in a very disturbing way. You wouldn't want your child or future child to be apart of such acts, neither having them go through a process to show off their tiny bodies it's just unethical and disappointing that society would advertise such things like this. Nowadays women and little girls want to become something that their not and this needs to stop now ! Before it's too late.

In order to be a woman, you have to be able to reach the requirements of becoming a woman. Requirements... Requirements for becoming a woman, does that sound right to you at all? Well then you should know by now that there are requirements for becoming a beauty pageant contestant, these requirements will be judged on by judges and all for what? A crown, a bouquet of roses with a satchel and money, I get it that it sounds amazing and all but you only have your title for a year before someone else comes in to replace you. Imagine that you have to give your one dream away to some stranger who has now taken your dream, you wouldn't want that stranger to take your dream but you have to give it away. It's not worth it I say because you're also advertising to other girls around the world of becoming something you're not and thats not right considering more and more teenagers are becoming depressed and insecure about themselves. What we should be doing is advertise teens that they should love themselves for who they are and let them know is ok to be different from others, it's ok to not have a model body but how is a beauty pageant going to advertise body positivity when you're going to be judged on it? These requirements should change to make it more body positivity experience than a skinny model experience it can help other people well-being to be more confident in themselves and be content with one another.

Society now talks about empowering women and making them independent although beauty pageants don't seem to advertise the same message. This should concern all throughout each nation, aren't you concerned about the message it sends to young teens and kids? I know I. would be considering I'm a teenager myself I don't approve of the message it sends to our generation, whether it be body image or not it should also talk about women empowerment and independence, talking about what they are going to change not wanting as there is a big difference. This is the message that they should be sending to women to have our next generation to think about what we going to do to change the world. It shouldn't be about crowns if you want a crown then you're already wearing it, yes it's not on top of your head but you need to believe that you're wearing one. Crowns are not needed if you believe you are wearing one yourself, this should be the message they should be sending to our generation and future generations we can't send the wrong message now we have to change it and need to change it now! Otherwise, we would be failing the future generation in how women should be treated and should be seen, we'll be losing respect as women when we should be gaining it. One way we can gain respect is to reduce the number of shows that seem to show women objectification. That's when we'll be able to educate the new generation of women independence and respect.

Overall beauty pageants seem to objectify women and not spread this right message to us, lowering our rights to be independent and be given the respect we need. This also includes educating our generation to be themselves and be content, to not be someone you shouldn't be giving an unrealistic expectation of our generation and future generations. We can change these things though, we all just need to start somewhere and sometime maybe now should be a good time.
