in this article I'm going to write about something that has fascinated me my entire life. something that we label as "fantasy", things that aren't real. but do we really know that? do we have any proof that these things don't exist? no. or we do have science, but we can´t prove that its not possible. cause we haven't discovered everything yet. today I'm going to write about some mythical creatures i find really fascinating. some you may now, some you don't. i hope you enjoy!

🌜 elves

elves are very known mythical creatures. they are often seen in movies or books. these creatures were first mentioned in norse mythology. they were often seen as youthful men and women of great beauty. they often lived in the forest or in the underground around caves. they have often been portrayed to be either immortal or long-lived with magical powers. in norse mythology they were divided in two groups as light elves and dark elves, kind of like "good" and "evil".

🌜 kraken

this is an aquatic monster who also origins from norse mythology. it has been said that they often dwelled off the shores of Norway and Greenland. the creature is often visualized as a giant octopus who attack sailing ships. the legend and lore of kraken have been believed to have originated form sights of giant squids.

🌜 sirens

the sirens were dangerous creatures from greek mythology. the sirens would lure nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices in order to shipwreck them on the rocky coast of the island. some of them were given names like; Parthenope and Ligeia. when they were named they were considered the daughters of the god Achelous.

🌜 the griffin

the griffin is a legendary creature with the head and wings of an eagle, and the body, tail, and hind legs of a lion. as the eagle was considered the ‘king of the birds’, and the lion the ‘king of the beasts’, the griffin was perceived as a powerful and majestic creature. during the persian empire, the griffin was seen as a protector from evil, witchcraft, and slander. while griffins are most common in the art and mythology of ancient greece, there is evidence of representations of griffins in ancient persia and ancient egypt dating back to as early as the 4th millennium BC.

🌜 fairies

fairies refers to an infinite variety of mythical creatures. originating in european myth, "fairy" is an umbrella term describing a wide array of spirits, usually associated with nature. the term fairy has eventually been narrowed down and is now commonly associated with miniscule, winged creature possessing magical abilities. fairies of all sorts are common in the fantasy genre, with their attributes and abilities being adapted countless times. throughout the world, fairies (or fays) are known for their timeless beauty and powerful magical gifts. the fairies are believed to be descended from supernatural beings from another world who came to this earth to begin their civilization again.
