Hello, amazing people!

First of all, I want to thank you for reading my reviews, I put a lot of effort in them and to see that you like them is such a wonderful feeling. Remember that if you would like me to review some movie or tv show or maybe even books you can just send me a postcard asking, I’d be beyond happy to do so as well translate articles, poems or something.
I listen to you.

Now, I’ve been avoiding to write this article because the Academy hadn’t released the list of nominees but today it finally happened!!!
I am going to let you know my thoughts on the nominees, categories, predictions and more so brace yourselves because this might be a long article or I’ll probably write a second part, anyway, here we go!

2018 oscar nominations image
90th Academy Awards.

Best Picture Nominees:
+Call Me by Your Name.
+ The Shape of Water.
+ Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
+ Dunkirk.
+ Darkest Hour.
+ Lady Bird.
+ Get Out.
+ The Post.
+ Phantom Thread.

Okay, I know the favorite is The Shape of Water and I am mostly sure it’ll win, but the competition is rough. My personal favorites are Call Me by Your Name, The Shape of Water and Darkest Hour because of the amazing performance the cast offers but I do believe Guillermo del Toro will take the Oscar home.

Best Director Nominees:
+ Christopher Nolan for Dunkirk.
+ Greta Gerwig for Lady Bird.
+ Paul Thomas Anderson for Phantom Thread.
+ Jordan Peele for Get Out.
+ Guillermo del Toro for The Shape of Water.

I think Del Toro will win, though everyone did an awesome job and Nolan and Gerwig may be in on the competition with such masterpieces yet I do not have a favorite, I just really want to see if the fact that Gerwig is a woman will affect anything.
The only thing I want is fairness.

Best Actor in Leading Role Nominees:
+ Daniel Kaluuya for Get Out.
+ Gary Oldman for Darkest Hour.
+ Timothée Chalamet for Call Me by Your Name.
+ Denzel Washington for Roman J. Israel Esq.
+ Daniel Day-Lewis for Phantom Thread.

My favorite is Daniel Kaluuya, he just did an awesome job that deserves recognition but I do know that lots of people are with Timothée and I understand why, he is a rising star with amazing skills.
I find hard to make a prediction so I leave this one to you.

Best Actress in Leading Role Nominees:
+ Margot Robbie for I, Tonya.
+ Meryl Streep for The Post.
+ Saoirse Ronan for Lady Bird.
+ Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
+ Sally Hawkins for The Shape of Water.

Now, two years ago I was left wishing for Saoirse Ronan to win an Oscar and I really hope this year she gets it, but everyone just performed greatly.
Personally, my favorites are Frances McDorman and Ronan but I can’t really say how uncertain I am on this category.

Best Actor in a Supporting Role Nominees:
+ Richard Jenkins for The Shape of Water.
+ Woody Harrelson for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
+ Christopher Plummer for All the Money in the World.
+ Sam Rockwell for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
+ Willem Dafoe for The Florida Project.

Mathematically speaking is sure to say that Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri will take this award even if math is not a good language here, I must say that Sam Rockwell does an amazing job and anyone who had seen the movie will agree so I really hope he gets this one.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role:
+ Mary J. Blige for Mudbound.
+ Lesley Manville for Phantom Thread.
+ Allison Janney for I, Tonya.
+ Octavia Spencer for The Shape of Water.
+ Laurie Metcalf for Lady Bird.

Now this is the category I have no doubt in, well…, maybe a little.
Allison Janney deserves this award, nothing more nothing else.
Even if Octavia Spencer was awesome too, Janney was definitely perfect. I have nothing else to say except to look forward to my review on the movie I, Tonya that will be posted soon.
