A letter to all my suffering friends

I won’t ask you how you’re doing, you’ve probably been asked this more times than you care for and honestly you’ll tell me when you’re ready. My dear friend, I won’t point out that you’re not alone in this, because I already hope you know this.

But I’ll tell you what you need to hear, because either way, you need to understand what we are saying when we say it’ll pass. Don’t think you’ll suffer till end of time because you won’t, and it’s not just as a fact, but it’s the mentality we need you to understand, the headspace you need to be in to prevent you from going into depression or into any harmful situations.

When we tell you to lean on us, we mean it. Don’t be afraid to rant about what’s affecting you, because believe it or not, you need to let the steam off one way or another before it turns you into ash.

Believe me, dearest, when I tell you that I might not understand what you are going through, but I’ll be damned if I don’t try my best to.

Comprehend that during your hard times, if you search the corners, you’ll find your loved ones, waiting for you to call upon them.

Don’t let your pride prevent you from asking for help when you need it.
Don’t let your fear of rejection prevent you from reaching out.
Don’t let the loneliness manipulate you into thinking you’re alone.

Because during this shaping moment, you’re friends and loved ones might not be aware of what’s going on. It’ll break them to know you didn’t tell them, or show them. So reach out to us.

Let us in. Let us care for you. Let us repay you by being there for you. Don’t push us away.

Yours waiting, Salsa.
