Well, here we go. My first article. Lets see how this goes, and if I even decide to publish it. Anyways, here are five 90's movies you need to absolutely watch.

1. What's Eating Gilbert Grape, 1993

johnny depp, quotes, and movie image

Gilbert Grape is a small-town young man with a lot of responsibility. Chief among his concerns are his mother, who is so overweight that she can't leave the house, and his mentally impaired younger brother, Arnie, who has a knack for finding trouble. Settled into a job at a grocery store and an ongoing affair with local woman Betty Carver, Gilbert finally has his life shaken up by the free-spirited Becky. This movie doesn't really have a main conflict but is most certainly entertaining and interesting and goes along with Gilbert's life among with his family.

2. Clueless 1995

Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother was right about how misguided she was -- and falls for him. Clueless is hands down my favorite movie. If you're into all the glitz, glamour, and fashion of the 90's, this will be the movie for you. Not only does it have meaning but it also has some dry comedy in there.

3. Ferris Beuller's Day Off, 1986

Ferris Bueller has an uncanny skill at cutting classes and getting away with it. Intending to make one last duck-out before graduation, Ferris calls in sick, "borrows" a Ferrari, and embarks on a one-day journey through the streets of Chicago. On Ferris' trail is high school principal Rooney, determined to catch him in the act. This is one of my top favorite movies. This has tons of dry comedy in it also and is sure to make you laugh. It also deals with some deep everyday life things as well.

4. Breakfast Club, 1985

Five high school students from different walks of life endure a Saturday detention under a power-hungry principal. The disparate group includes rebel John, princess Claire, outcast Allison, brainy Brian and Andrew, the jock. Each has a chance to tell his or her story, making the others see them a little differently -- and when the day ends, they question whether school will ever be the same. I found this movie had such a great message all throughout. And it really portrays what teenagers were like back then.

5. Dirty Dancing, 1987

Baby is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny, enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer. All I have to say about this film is that it is absolutely adorable and you must watch it.

Thank you so much for your attention, if I get positive feedback on this, as it is only my first article, then I will for sure make more articles.
