As we welcome in 2018, we all have goals and resolutions set for ourselves. One of the most common resolutions is to maintain a healthier diet. Keeping this resolution is a struggle, let's be real. BUT, here are a few replacement snacks/drinks that are much healthier than your normal chips and sodas, and just as tasty. I hope this article helps some of you keep your resolution going strong for a little longer!

1. Granola Bars

Granola bars are a great alternative to any sugary cravings you may have. You can buy them at your local grocery store, or you can easily home-make them!

2. Fruit

There are so many different fruits out there, you'll no doubt find one you love! A lot of fruits (particularly berries) are very sweet, but are healthy of course, so they can also replace sugary cravings without harming your body.

3. Lemon Water (or any fruit + water)

If you're anything like me, you probably aren't drinking as much water as you need to. One way I have worked through that issue is adding lemon into my water! Just cut a small slice, squeeze the juice into your water, and it tastes 10x better without making your drink unhealthy! This is also super affordable! You can do this with any fruit you prefer.

4. Cracker Stacks

"Cracker Stacks" are simply crackers with any healthy toppings you prefer (pepperoni, turkey, cheese, etc). Because the cheese/meat are bite sized, this can be a healthy, yummy lunch or snack! (They can be unhealthy in large amounts).

5. Trail Mix

Trail mix is amazing because it's completely customizable! Nuts, popcorn, pretzels, dried fruit, cheese crackers, it's completely your choice! There are plenty of healthy options to pick and choose from to create your own healthy mix.

6. Wheat Bread

When you make your morning toast or afternoon sandwich, be sure to use wheat bread in place of white! Wheat bread contains all of the grains and nutrients that bread is originally grown with, but white bread has had those nutrients processed out. Wheat bread is so much healthier, and there is little taste difference between the two.

7. Eggs

There are numerous ways to cook and serve eggs, but each way is equally tasty and beneficial. Eggs provide protein, vitamins, minerals, and necessary fats. I love to eat eggs on an english muffin for breakfast, but you can have them however you like!
