SISTER CARING

A young wife was sitting on a couch on a hot, humid day, sipping iced tea during a visit to her mother.

As they talked about life, marriage, the responsibilities of life, the obligations of the adult, the mother shook the ice cubes thoughtfully in her glass and cast a clear and sober look on her daughter.

Regardless of how much you love your husband, of the children you may have, you will always need "Sisters".

Remember to occasionally go places with them; do things with them; call them. Remember that 'Sisters' means all women ... their friends, daughters and all their other relatives. You will need other women.

What strange advice! Thought the young woman. I just joined the married world. I'm an adult. Surely, my husband and the family we will start will be all I need to make sense of my life!

However, she obeyed her mother. She kept in touch with her sisters and annually increased the number of friends.

As the years passed, she realized that her mother knew what she was talking about. To the extent that time and nature make their changes and mysteries about a woman. "Sisters" are bulwarks of your life. 50 years, here's what I learned:

Time passes ... Life happens ... Distance separates ... Children grow ... Jobs go and see ... Love grows slacker or goes away ... Men do not do what they should to do ... The heart breaks ... Parents die ... The careers are over ...

But ... the "Sisters" are there, no matter how long and how many miles are between you.

Offer this message to all women who help make sense of your life. I just did it. Thank you for being one of my sisters.

A friend is never farther than the reach of a need, cheering for you, intervening in your favor, and waiting for you with open arms,

All ... friends, mothers, daughters, grandparents, daughters-in-law, aunts, cousins, nieces ... blessing our lives!

When we began this adventure called the feminine condition, we did not know of the incredible joys or sorrows that were ahead. We did not even know how much we would need from each other.
