There are many of us who don't consider themselves as a smart person. Trust me nobody is born smart and intelligent. Getting good grades at school or college isn't only defined as smart, but the decision we make, and knowledge we apply to our daily life also make someone smart. However, the definition of Smartness is different for many and anyone can be smart if they want. In this article, I'm gonna share some simple things or habits that will make you a smarter person.

1. Read:

Whether it's a book, newspaper or blog articles, spend your free time in reading. Reading will not only give you knowledge but also it will enhance your vocabulary, improve memory and concentration, which will help you sharpen your writing skills. Every writer has their own style and strategies to write a book. In case you want to be a writer, reading a different genre of books will give you to new inspirations and let you decide your form of writing. Moreover, reading reduces stress and can even be a good source of entertainment.

2. Travel:

Travelling isn't only to exploring the world, but also you'll explore yourself from traveling. There are plenty of things one can gain from traveling such as experiences, new friends. You get a better understanding of the people living there, including their culture, lifestyle, currency, and languages. It will also improve your social and communication skills.

3. Learn A New Language:

If you're getting bored on your holidays and probably don't know what to do, then try learning different foreign languages. It will be a good exercise for your brain and boost your confidence. Besides, It will be helpful for traveling and you'll feel less awkward during meeting new people across the globe.

4. Attend An Event:

One of the most important things you'll get from attending an event is, you'll meet new and like-minded people or even experts. By means of that, there might be possibilities to get fresh ideas and vibes. It will help you to develop your communication as well as public speaking skills.

5. Write A Journal Or Diary:

Writing a journal will always help you stay organized and to use your time effectively. You can keep a track of what's happening in your surroundings and can create varieties of journals such as study notes, paying bills, and shopping list etc. Moreover, you can write inspirational quotes of your favorite celebrities on your diary and use it as an inspiration.

6. Play An Instrument

Music is not only a great source of entertainment, but also it plays a major role in benefiting a person mind, body, and soul. There won't be any person on earth who doesn't like music. Music helps in concentrate, improves hearing skills and socializing. It enables a person to express their emotions through songs. If you're playing different types of instruments or singing different genre of songs, then more likely you'll get to learn about the cultural history of the different musical instruments or origin of a song. Moreover, playing an instrument can be a great stress reliever and can help people with recovering anxiety, insomnia or other issues.

7. Games

Gaming includes both outdoor and indoor games.There are a variety of games which will help you to develop physical and mental strength. If you don't like to play outdoor games then still you can enhance your brain capacity and boost your memory by solving a puzzle, playing chess or crosswords.

8. Take Good Care Of Your Health:

Your physical health is directly related to your mental health. If you stay fit then you will more likely able to focus on your study or work. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing exercise daily, meditation, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy food.
