There are so many beautiful places in the world, and Hawaii is one of them. I've never been to Hawaii sadly, but I do appreciate its beauty. It is my favorite place on Earth.

The Ocean

The biggest attractions of Hawaii are the high temperatures and the big, blue, Ocean. The Ocean view in Hawaii is glorious! The clear waters are amazing for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and so many other activities. Having the sun on your back and getting a great tan doesn't hurt either.

The Animals

Inside of the clear water one can see the beautiful creatures Of the Hawaiian islands. Usually turtles, stingrays, sharks, and seals, are most seen. (Sting rays are my favorite animals ever).

The Language

"Aloha" is just one example of the Hawaiian language. What makes the Hawaiian language so great is in a lot of their words there are deeper and multiple meanings. Aloha means hello, goodbye, and to express love. Everyday I live "Aloha."

The Hula

Besides the beauty of the Islands, the Hula is the beauty in the people. The Hula is a traditional dance of movements and chant. The Hula is known to be the soul of Hawaii. Every movement, expression and gesture in the hula has a specific meaning, from representing plants, animals, and the elements to listening, searching, sailing and so much more.

The Culture

Hawaiian culture is the traditions of the Hawaiian people. It’s way more than luaus, it’s a history, a practice, a respect and a beautifully deep connection to the land that has existed for centuries.

The Leis

Leis may just seem like a garland of flowers, but really Leis traditionally express love, reverent, respect, congratulations and welcome. The different colors of Hawaiian Lei Greetings can have different meanings.

*Purple, Green and White Hawaiian Flower Leis: Orchid leis are often given to visitors to welcome them to Hawaii.  Orchid leis are also given as a thank you.
*Orange, Red and Brown Hawaiian Flower Leis: The ilima flower is the official flower of Oahu and symbolizes love.
*Ti Leaf Leis symbolize admiration, appreciation and respect. Ti leaf leis are often used as gifts for weddings, graduations, anniversaries and memorials.
*The Kukui nut lei was once a symbol of royalty.  These brown leis are given to show respect or appreciation.
*White, Pink, or Red Hawaiian Flower Leis:  Leis made with carnations are often exchanged during weddings or anniversary parties.  These leis symbolize love.

The Hibiscus Flower

One of my favorite pieces of Hawaiian culture is the Hibiscus flower. This flower is known as an iconic symbol of Hawaii. hibiscus flowers represent delicate beauty, unity and peace. Just as the lei, each color means something different.

*Red - love, passion
*Yellow - friendship
*Purple - wealth
*Blue - serenity
*Pink - rare beauty
*White - enlightment

Although not directly based off of Hawaii, Moana was created off of Polynesian culture. The hibiscus flower and leis, the hula, stingrays, sailing, and so much more is included in the movie. So, if you ever are interested in Hawaiian culture or even Polynesian culture in general, Moana is a great watch. (It's my favorite movie ever)!
