Losing a Piece of Life

I've personally lost so many people in the past year who meant so much to me. It's hard dealing with loss, especially with so many in a short amount of time. It has been hard enough to deal with these losses this past year and now tomorrow I have to say goodbye to another loved one.

This past year has been one of the hardest, especially in school. But because of all the pain, I went through I've learned how to become stronger. Since I understand how hard it can be to continue living life when you have lost someone so close to your heart, I want to help others so that they may become even stronger than I have.

My reminder to love every day.

The first thing anyone should do is to allow themselves to grieve. It is best to let out all those feelings because holding it in will only postpone the healing. And remember everyone is different in their grieving, so it's okay if it takes you months or even years. What really helped me was remembering that I will always love and miss them, but I don't always have to be depressed.

Self-care is the most important in grieving. Make sure to take care of your self and never let yourself go. It might be so hard just to do the simplest of things but they keep you from spiraling deeper into sadness. Take care of your self and allow others to take care of you as well. The best way to heal is to have loving support from others.

School will be the last thing on your mind during your grieving process, and that's okay. It's okay to take time off and as much as you think you need to just sort through your feelings. However, remember that the responsibilities of life will always be there waiting for you. So take just the right amount of time you need to get back to your own life.

Once you are back to doing work and other things in your life, remember that you owe yourself to build a happy life. It will be so hard going back to reality at first but the best thing in life is that you can create it. You can use this time to love the most, take care of yourself, and start recovering to a happy life again no matter how long it takes. :)
