If you’re anything like me, putting my makeup on each morning is what takes me the longest to do before I head of to work. Over the past few months I’ve been trying to cut down the amount of time it takes me to do my makeup and use that time for something more important, like breakfast. So it used to take me half an hour to apply my makeup each morning but now I’ve cut down the time to 10-15 minutes depending on how tired I am. Here are a few things that help me to have a quick make up routine.

Organise

It stresses me out when my makeup storage area is messy, I have quite a lot of make up as it is so if its not properly organised in its right place it gets too much and I end up misplacing and loosing things. Especially if I’m in a rush and I cant find a certain makeup product, it puts me in a bad mood and then the rest of my makeup doesn’t end up right. So what I do now is every evening set aside 5 to 10 minutes just to sort the products out and make sure everything is in its right place and its all nice and tidy. I group all similar products together so its much easier to find.

Multi purpose

Another helpful tip is using one product for different things. It totally saves time on you rummaging through your other products, for example using a highlighter or blush for an eye shadow. Its also easier if you carry these products in your makeup bag for on the go, its less products but you’ve still got everything you need.

Set routine

Setting a solid routine is much easier then switching it up every few days, by having a set routine you can apply your makeup more quickly and efficiently without thinking what to do next. I always apply my skincare products in the same order, moisturiser, eye cream and then a primer to start of the makeup. With makeup I tend to do my eyes first and then foundation and concealer. I find it much more easier and this way I know I wont forget anything.

Hair

Whether your a shower in the morning type of person or shower in the evening person air drying your hair is always the best option. Less heat will keep your hair more healthy and you might actually find that you love your natural look. But I know sometimes you need to blow dry your hair or straighten it and I know that takes time. I always prefer to wash my hair the night before and style it then too as it saves me so much time. Then I’ve got them 10 minutes in the morning free.
