as already said, spotify playlist for tired, sick days when it feels like it's raining in your head. these feeling are hard to get with, but music often helps explain the unexplainable. p.s. suicide hotlines:

 • Devil In Me by Halsey

why: ya really thought i could make a playlist without halsey? but really, it's powerful modern pop electra about her mental health struggles (bipolar) and her effect on other people. she is partly ashamed that she has to deal with it, but it's a part of her. she focuses on sayings by others, how she lets them down. she has different opinions which lead to problems.

"You said I'm too much to handle
You said I
Shine too bright, I burnt the candle
Flew too high

I won't take anyone down if I crawl tonight
But I still let everyone down when I change in size
And I went tumbling down tryna reach your high
But I scream too loud when I speak my mind"

 • Jesus Christ by Brand New

why: it's brilliant ballad by pop punk artists, nothing like the rest of their work. this song will haunt you every night. the singer is asking jesus many questions that he wants to be answered, he is pretty negative in a way of thinking. a couple of different parts give this song unique structure. really really recommend.

"I know you're coming in the night like a thief
But I’ve had some time, O Lord, to hone my lying technique
I know you think that I’m someone you can trust
But I’m scared I’ll get scared and I swear I’ll try to nail you back up
So do you think that we could work out a sign
So I’ll know it's you and that it's over so I won't even try
I know you're coming for the people like me
But we all got wood and nails
And we turn out hate in factories
We all got wood and nails
And we turn out hate in factories
We all got wood and nails
And we sleep inside of this machine"

 • Paranoid Android by Radiohead

favorite lines
"Please, could you stop the noise? I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices in my head

Come on, rain down on me
From a great height"

why: "Radiohead songs suck, their lyrics and instrumentals are so poor, ugh" - said no one ever. one of the most popular OK Computers singles, it transports the anxious feel from it to your skin. makes me think about the distance from reality. being unconscious of your surroundings with this anger with your close ones.

 • Blue by A Perfect Circle

favorite lines

"Call an optimist, she's turning blue
Such a lovely color for you
Call an optimist, she's turning blue
Such a perfect color for your eyes
Call an optimist, she's turning blue
Such a lovely color for you
Call an optimist, she's turning blue
While I just sit and stare at you

I don't want to know"

why: i remember nights out on the balcony, the only lights came from stars and cigarettes. this song stayed with me from those nights to parties spent in the bathroom to 5s in the morning on the window. tragiclly beautiful song.

 • Blood Honey by Marilyn Manson

favorite lines

"I got some feelings
But I try to hide when I'm healing
I fuck every broken-crazy-girl
Instead of hanging from the ceiling

So, I keep my life a lie
I keep my head loose
My nose is like a beehive
I'm dripping blood honey"

the recent song, my favorite from the new album. strong Manson feels, slower than other ones. i could talk about it for 16 days non-stop.

 • She by Green Day

why: simple enough, just listen to it. 8th single from Dookie, good guitar, blending vocals, chill but not a ballad.

favorite lines

"She, she screams in silence
A sullen riot penetrating through her mind
Waiting for a sign
To smash the silence with the brick of self-control"

 • Misery by Creeper

why: not so well known band, as well as the song. it has a story that follows through the whole thing, i just recommend it.

favorite lines

"If you could see the wreck I am these days, you’d have new reasons to stay away
Just hold my hand for a little while
Misery never goes out of style

I’m your chipped nail paint. I’m the fabric of your coat You are all I fear. You are words I never wrote You are years ago"
 • Straight To The Video by Mindless Self Indulgence

why: i saved this industrial manic sounding hit for the last. the theme is basically turning to be an actress in adult films when you think there's no way of getting out of your problems.

favorite lines

"All aboard
Hit the road
All the bullshit
Can't be ignored

It's hard to place
In my face
No emotion

All the problems
Make me wanna go
Like a bad girl
Straight to video
Little darling
Welcome to the show
You're a failure
Played in stereo"
