For years I have tried to recover from mental illness. I've done plenty of different types of therapy such as CBT and DBT, been to multiple doctors and therapists. They teach you skills to cope but it never worked for me.

It wasn't until I decided to become my own best friend, that I finally began to heal.

By becoming your best friend, you always have someone to talk to, to defend you and be there for you.You can learn to be you're own protector.

Recovery is within yourself, that is the only place you will find it, but recovery doesn't have to be lonely.Talk to yourself, think things out, be you're own support system. At the end of the day there is only you, how can you heal when you are not there for yourself?

Recovery is hard and long, do not rush it. <3
