When I first started college, I thought that I had it in the bag. Boy was I wrong. Here are some tips that I wished someone would have told me before I walked into my college.

1. GET THERE EARLY!!

Finding a good parking space will be hard especially if your late to class. Remember your not the only student on campus with a car.

2. BRING A POWER BANK

Trust me, finding an open outlet for your charger will be nearly impossible.

3. ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS

Ask everyone. Ask former students which teacher to get and ask teachers about assignments. Even ask them to read your work. Trust me they will help you.

4. ALWAYS BRING MONEY

Everything in college is expensive. Even the cafeteria food. Always have extra money with you or have an alternative.

5. BRING A NOTEBOOK

Have a notebook containing your class schedule and a list of things to do. This will help you keep track of all of the work you have to get done.

6. PROCRASTINATION IS AN ISSUE

keep it up, don't give up, and you can do it image
In college you'll miss having free time so you'll tell yourself that you'll just relax for a minute. Then that minute becomes an hour, then two hours, then the whole afternoon is gone. Always focus on your assignments. Put your phone down and get to work. Put up motivational quotes around your house along with pictures of your goals.

7. PRAY
(recommended)

If you have a religion or not. If you have something you believe in, then pray with all your heart and keep your eye on the prize.

8. TEACHERS NO LONGER HAVE FAVORITES

Honestly there are too many students for them to keep track of. They don't do favorites anymore and they'll treat you like adults now. They also take the time to grade the hell out of your work. So don't think that they're the same as high school teachers. They will acknowledge you if you try to stand out of the crowd (plus they really appreciate it if you do).

9. USE YOUR TIME WISELY

Every little time you find you either use it to do work, study, eat, sleep, or workout. Spare time is so hard to find so use them wisely. Catch up on some zzz's, get fit, get ahead of your class. Be smart.

10. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

You need money. We all need money. But textbooks are so effing expensive and classes aren't cheap either. You may have to take a break from online shopping. Unless mommy and daddy gives you an allowance of $200 a week or something.
