  • 1984 by George Orwell

I know this is a very popular book, you have probably had a dozen of people or lists that recommend this book. But trust me, if you haven't read this book yet then what the hell are you doing with your life??!

This book really scared the shit out of me and not in a horror kind of way,
this book makes you think about the scary world we live. If you think about it, it's not really a distopian, because the things that happen in the book are also happening now in our world. Just in a more subtle way.

The book tells about a 30-year-something man named Winston. He lives in a world where 'The Big Brother' is constantly controlling the people via cameras and screens. He also has an 'army' called the Thought Police In this world, nobody has the freedom to do anything, they don't even have the freedom to have their own thoughts.

While many people find security in mindless conformity, Winston finds forbidden love and joins a group that is committed to the destruction of Big Brother and the controlling structure of Government.

  • The Knife of Never Letting Go
Flagged For Review

Todd Hewitt lives in Prentisstown, the only human colony on New World. In one month, Todd will become a man at the age of thirteen, although he is already fourteen in earth years. His father died in the early years of settlement from the disease that wiped out some of the male settlers. It killed all of the women over the years, including his mother. Because there are no women left, there are no children. And Ben is the youngest one in town.

The disease didn’t wipe the humans out as planned. The women were killed but the majority of men survived. The men who survived suffered from a permanent side-effect: Noise. Everyone’s thoughts could be heard and no secrets could be kept. It was just constant Noise from everyone and every living thing. Even the animals made Noise.

The major and the ones in control all seem to be waiting for the same thing. For the youngest of their town to turn into a man. But the question is why? And why is Todd so important to them?

These were three of my favourite books of sci-fi ( of course there are more, but I don't want to make this too long)

The next genre is

I especially loved the heroine. She was reliable and mature, took care of her family. I also loved that she was kickass. She was also a hunter.

  • The little Prince

Oh damnn. This book was just magical.

For those who don't like thick books, well this one only has 75 pages.

There are those who think that The little prince is a book for children, but I don't think so at all. Behind every word there is a deeper meaning, something about which you have to think about.

I really loved this book. Especially the heroine. By now, you probably noticed that my heroines need to be kickass, and that's exactly what Mercy is.

Okay.. Soo, I'm bringing an end to this list, because I don't want to make it too long for you.

Of course I have so much more favourites in other genres and subgenres, but I can't possibly mention them all.

I really hope you enjoyed this article!

And I hope that you try out those books, because they're really really wonderful.
