A list of books I plan on reading this fall.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time - Mark Haddon

I just finished this actually. It's a very enticing story about a kid with behavioral problems trying to solve the murder of a neighborhood dog named Wellington. I really like reading mysteries during fall. It just feels like a good time for suspense.

Ghost Stories of Henry James - Henry James

This is as sounds, a collection of ghost stories by Henry James. I read his story Turn of the Screw in high school and I really enjoyed the suspense and supernatural aspect. So I'm excited to read more of this. I've just started it and only read one of the stories so far which I liked. It's such a good October/Halloween read.

Dracula - Bram Stoker

I'm re-reading this. I read it for the first time last year and loved it. I know it's a classic tale and you've probably seen one of the countless movie adaptions (which are great) but I completely recommend this. It's such a great read and immediately pulls you in.

book, fall, and Halloween image
The Legend of Sleep Hollow - Washington Irving

I planned to read this last fall and didn't get to it, so I'm excited to read it this year. Of course I've heard the story but I always think there is something to be gained from the original story.

book, gaston, and leroux image
Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux

Another book I'm re-reading. I just love Phantom of the Opera, who doesn't? The Phantom is an amazing and complex character whose story I just never get tired of reading. Also you've probably gathered I love suspense and the supernatural in October.

The Pillowman - Martin McDonagh

I'm really excited to read this. The brief summary is it's about a fictional writer who lives in a police state who gets interrogated about his short stories. If that doesn't sound intriging to you then I don't know what will. Also it's a play which is a relatively new interest of mine.

adventure, indie, and map image
Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson

By the author of one of my favorite books, Jekyll and Hyde, so it has to be good. I've never seen the Disney movie based off this so I'm not really familiar with the story. I just know it will be adventure filled so I'm excited.

book, to kill a mockingbird, and Harper Lee image
To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee

I never had to read this book for school and I feel like a lot of people have. Anyway I've just heard a lot of good things about this book and I can't wait to read it.

books, legend, and Time machine image
The Time Machine - H.G. Wells

Sci-fi is one of my favorite genres of everything. That is why I've been meaning to read something by H.G. Wells. I decided to start with this one because I recently watched a movie adaption of it and I loved it.

book, sherlock holmes, and sherlock image
The Complete Sherlock Holmes (Vol. 1) - Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle

I started reading this last year and I really love it. It's a fairly easy read. Sherlock Holmes is a genius and so interesting to read about. This book is just a collection of Sherlock Holmes stories and as I said I love reading mysteries in the fall time.

Thanks for reading!
