Being a skateboarder is like being part of a secret society. There's a certain language, etiquette and history that all skaters know and follow. When you meet another skater, you instantly have a whole host of things that connect you. It's a difficult way of life to simply quit, and some would argue it never really leaves you.

There are a lot of reasons why someone decides to become a skater. For example me, I had been trought a lot stuff and I just wanted to get away somehow, you know feel free somehow. When I was little my grandpa and I used to go in the mountain for long walks and he would always tell me to chase after my dreams, achieve the impossible. So yeah skateboarding became my dream..my mom of course was opossite to this idea, she was overprotective and the fact that we live in Greece made it more complicated than it was. It took me almost 9 years to convice her, and finally when I turned 16, I got my first skateboard. It was a lot of difficult to learn by myself..and I'm still learning now, I'm not perfect but I try to be. Well at least I had the support and the help of my lovely sister, but enough for me.

Anyway being a skater is seriously the BEST experience you could get. When you skate it feels like the world is your playground and you're the king/queen. You see diferent every road, every school, every staircase and every park. You wake up in the morning thinking of places to try your new tricks. Have you ever go for skateboard at 5 in the morning? No? Me neither but i definately will! It's amazing how the breeze in your cheeks feel when you speed down the roads of the sleeping city, how free you feel to be yourself and how your adrenaline reach to the limits. It's seriously the best feeling ever, you see the world differently. So If you're looking for something new to try out, you should definately cosider skateboard.
