I think it is very important for young girls and boys to have role models they look up to. There are many well-known celebrities in the world who do not use their platform to speak out on important issues that are happening right in front of our faces!

For my second article, I will be addressing 6 successful women I look up to.

1.Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She began her singing career at a very young age with support from her mother, Tina Lawson, and her father, Matthew Lawson. Beyonce considers herself a "modern-day feminist", she also contributed to the Ban Bossy campaign, which uses television and social media to encourage leadership in girls from all around the world. In 2013, Beyonce publicly endorsed same sex marriage. The singer condemned police brutality against Black Americans, in her six album which includes the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Eric Garner. If you need a celebrity to "stan", definitely stan Queen Bey herself.

She was part of the Women's March that took place in Downtown Los Angeles, earlier this year. Rowan also took to the podium after marching to address the thousands of people in the crowd. I look up to Rowan Blanchard SO much, especially since she's around the same age as me, she's so powerful, and she stands up for what she believes in.
