For those of you who don't know, I have created a 30-day challenge for myself. I will be posting an answer every day for the month of September to let my fantastic followers, and anyone else who is interested, know a little bit more about me! #WhiChallenge

Here's a link to my original article of all the questions I will be answering-

  • 10. If you could go anywhere in the world for a vacation, where would it be and why?

I've thought a lot about this and I have to say, hands down, the place that I would want to go for vacations would be Egypt! Why? Well, I suppose if ancient ruins, pyramids, and temples filled with hieroglyphics isn't your thing, then you would be asking why. However, all that I mentioned above absolutely fascinates me. I also greatly enjoy history, and, more specifically, history that includes ancient civilizations, mummies, and pharaohs. I mentioned in my "Interior Design" article (link below) that if I could do any job that was most likely unrealistic for me, it would be archeology. (Again, is my Indiana Jones side showing?)

Let me break down a few of the many wonders of Ancient (and today) Egypt.

  • The Pyramids

Specifically, The Pyramids of Giza. This one may seem obvious. However, I think that it would be devastating to miss out on seeing the only "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" that is currently still standing.

  • The Sphinx

Sphinxes have been mentioned in quite a few books I have read, such as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire during the Triwizard tournament, and have always fascinated me. And besides, who could resist taking that classic kissy-face picture with an ancient sphinx?

  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities

I've heard that Cairo has an amazing Egyptian Museum. Housed inside are rare finds such as King Tut's death mask, and a mummy room! Just don't watch any Mummy movies before you go.

  • The Lost City of Heracleion
"It was barely more than a legend. Appearing in a few rare inscriptions and ancient texts, the city of Thonis-Heracleion was hidden away for thousands of years, submerged deep under the sea."

I doubt that you would actually be able to see it since it is underwater. However, I added it anyway because, let's be honest, it's too cool!

That concludes this article. Thanks for reading!
