So ..........................

Recently I posted an article that I decided to write out of the blue

Mostly I wrote it as a kind of self motivating reminder to myself and to anyone out there that was going through the same struggle as I was

BUT

I never thought it would ever get so many views, though to some it may not really be that much of a big deal

But for me it is because I'm one of those people that feel like if I ever get like 20 likes on a post I feel like I'm on top of the world hehehe (yes I did just imagine myself on top of a mountain holding a superman pose with my cape flying in the air)

So yeah I just wanted to take this time to thank everyone who liked my post (bows deeply)

Anyways back to today's topic and that is Being Thankful

Now I know this may seem like such a small thing
But honestly I feel like it's something that people these days tend to forget more and more as the years go by.

We live in a world where the technology is found literally in every corner

We go about our daily lives plugged into our phones, or whatever it is you may be using to distract yourself, that we forget to look up every once in a while and really see what is in front of us.

Yes I admit that I too am guilty of this bad habit ..... sadly

We forget to really appreciate the little things that go on in our lives. Granted sometimes being in the real world may not be the most pleasant of things.

But we really need to take a step back once in a while and really be thankful.

I for one often times live too much in my head

I am being very literal. I tend to daze off and overthink things in my head and have full on conversations with my self that I tend to not really interact with people around me (or notice that I'm doing it until I snap out of it).

With that in mind I always try to put more conscious effort in being in the present. Because I tend to think too much, this is very hard to do. But whenever I am able to, I have always found how thankful I am in those moments

Now I wasn't always like this.... I did have to go through a rough patch to come to this realization (and grow a bit older hehehe ... cause yes, some young minds aren't always able to really grasp this concept due to the simple fact that their mind is literally to young to fully understand)

Sometimes I admit I tend to forget this but I eventually find something always pops up to give me a reminder

I unfortunately like I mentioned before had to go through such a bad experience to learn how to appreciate the smallest of things

Such as being able to be have a warm place to sleep, having a bed, having a blanket, having my family, having a loving mother (though sometimes I take this for granted and find her annoying), but even that I have come to be grateful for

Yes I know some of you may be thinking I'm crazy but the truth is even though you don't see it now our parents annoy us because they care

Yes I know I know a lot of you may have heard it before but it's true

They fear so much for us to have a bad experience in life that they try the best they can (though sometimes it isn't always the best method) to keeps us from getting hurt

Not only this but being thankful for waking up in the morning I know we take this for granted, but not everyone wakes up to see another day

Living in the "now" is something I struggle with and maybe some of you out there do too, but let just remind ourselves, yesterday is in the past, you no longer have control to change what has been done. You won't be able to go back in time no matter how many times you revisit the memory in your head.

What you can change is this moment you are living in right now, you can do something to make today better, take what you've learned and apply it to your life. Don't dwell to much on what has passed because it will drag you away from living your life.

You spend so much time thinking up of different scenarios of what could have been that you forget you could actually be living it instead of thinking it.

Granted like I've said before things take time and a lot of practice so your not going to wake up one day and magically change your whole way of being, so don't be discouraged if you struggle, just take it one step at a time, eventually you'll get there

So just like I was sooo happy for having a couple 100 hearts on my article, or having made a perfect cup of coffee this morning, or having been improving my sleeping pattern, no matter how small celebrate it!
