Hey! It’s Kim again, and I’m back with this week’s Songs of the Week! As usual, I’ll leave the link to every song after the description of each song.

1. “Back To You” by Louis Tomlinson ft. Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals

”I love it, I hate it, and I can’t take it, but I keep on coming back to you…”

I didn’t like this song at first. I remember listening to it for the first time when it came out and I absolutely hated it. I mean, I can relate to the lyrics but the background music didn’t really make me say “wow” at first. But like always, it takes time for some songs to grow on me, and this one is no exception. It’s about two people who are in love and most likely in a relationship, but even though they have their highs and lows, they always find a way to make it back to each other and be there for each other. This is one song I’ve had on repeat all week, and I hope the same happens to you when you listen to it.

2. “Anemone” by slenderbodies

”I like it better underwater...I’ve been drowning in anemone…”

I discovered the band slenderbodies thanks to Spotify recommending it to me under my “Discover” tab about two months ago. The song is off of their EP “fabulist.” I’m not going to lie here, the album cover is what attracted me to the EP. There’s nothing really there; there’s no obvious shapes or outlines to make out. It’s just a bunch of colors. I went to the track list and picked a random song, which just so happened to be “Anenome.” I loved how the song gave such a cool, relaxed vibe. It’s a perfect song for a road trip or while you’re reading a book on a rainy autumn day.

3. “Sail” by AWOLNATION

”This is how I show my love, I made it in my mind because I blame it on my ADD, baby…”

I know this song came out years ago. This song came out about four years ago, I believe. I remember listening to it for the first time about four years ago (even though the song's been out since 2010) and was super confused because the song didn’t start right away because of the instrumental part at the beginning and the only lyrics being “Sail!” for a while. Fast forward four years, and it’s become one of my favorites.

4. “Dusk Till Dawn” by ZAYN ft. Sia

”I’ll hold you when things go wrong, I’ll be with you from dusk till dawn…”

Now you guys know why I wait until Friday evening to post these articles! Every Friday, new music is released on iTunes, Spotify, etc. I knew the song was coming out (thanks to my friend who’s a 1D fan and follows all the guys’ careers and downloads all their music) and Zayn isn’t that bad of a singer (I’ve downloaded two of his songs off of his debut album, thanks to the same friend) so I decided to give it a shot. I watched the music video, and it gave off a lot of action movie vibes. Plus Sia’s featured in the song and I’m a fan of her.

5. “OMG” by Camila Cabello ft. Quavo

“Pull up, pull up, pull up straight from Tokyo, you will not believe it when we come through…”

As soon as I heard “Crying in the Club,” I knew that Camila Cabello is going to have a successful solo career. Her single “OMG” is a great song to play at parties and it’s so easy to get it stuck in your head. I didn't really listen to much at first (even though I downloaded it the day it came out) but then I started to get the song stuck in my head later on.

That's all for this week! This article was pretty hard to write because I started school this week and I'm still trying to get adjusted to everything. I have a ton of homework to do (I should be doing AP Calculus but I'm writing this instead) and it's not even the first full week of school. For everyone who went back to school this week, I hope you had a good week! If you have any article suggestions or song requests, feel free to send me a postcard! :)

Until next time,

Kim (@music_infinity)
