You asked me a question
Indirectly but firmly.
I cowered away,
Afraid because you
Dared to pursue me

You dared to touch me even
when you'd seen my scares.
You dared to hold me even
when you knew the coldness of my heart.
You dared to kiss me even
when you knew my lips are hot to the touch.
You dared to let my presence linger on your mind even
when you knew the plan of leaving didn't stat on my mind much.

After all my silence, you asked again,
Softer yet firmer, and then with your tears
I knew this wasn't a game
I stood tall and looked you in the eyes,
Opened my mouth and answered;

''Yes, you are my only one and I'll never say goodbye.''
