We all have dreams. We dream of being successful one day, wanting the luxury lifestyles we see on Instagram, to be able to travel freely, having all the money in the world. But how does one achieve that lifestyle? How do you decide on what career to chose?

I'm only 18 years old. I'm in that awkward in between stage where I have to take responsibilities as an adult but I also have to tell my parents what time I'm coming home. After high school, we are expected to decide what to do with our lives without having any experience in the real world. We may think we like something, but will we actually like it the more we learn? Will we achieve the lifestyle we've always wanted with that career path? It's really hard to decide at such an age.

Something my brother has always told me is to apply to internships. I may sound like a parent, but if you really don't know what you're doing with your life, go out and learn! What harm can it really do? And if you don't like it, move on to the next thing! I feel like a lot of people end up studying a specific major in college for years but when they're actually involved, they hate it! The earlier you start working and learning about the different careers out there, the easier it is to decide what to do.

ALSO IT IS OKAY TO BE CONFUSED! It took me a while to figure that out. I always felt the need to know exactly what I was going to do with my life but the truth is I still don't know, and I'm okay with that.

As of now, I'm interning at a jewelry company in NYC and still trying to figure out what to do with my life. I want to live in a nice apartment in the city one day and travel all over but I also want to do something that I love. I know a lot of you are just as confused as I am, but instead of panicking or worrying about the future, do something! Be proactive and do volunteer work or get some kind of summer internship, anything that will help you learn. There's a lot of competition out there, if you listen to my advice, I assure you'll be ahead of the game.

I wish you all the best and hope you're able to live out your dreams without anyone stopping you. If anyone has any questions feel free to message me about what your next step can be and until next time stay flawless.
