Hello! I'm Aline and I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift (kinda obvious since I have a collection dedicated only to to her)

Feel free to follow if you also admire this incredible artist and woman

Everybody is excited about her new single, Look What You Made Me Do. The thing is, I'm going through some bad things and I need some therapy. Taylor's music has always been there for me and I've decided to post a series of articles about her songs and what they could mean to us, mortals. This is the first article.

Look What You Made Me Do

I don't like your little games
Don't like your tilted stage
The role you made me play
Of the fool, no, I don't like you

Sometimes we have to admit to ourselves that someone we know is toxic and there is no place for their poison in our lives anymore. You don't have to put up with the crap they make you go through. No, I don't like you.

I don't like your perfect crime
How you laugh when you lie
You said the gun was mine
Isn't cool, no, I don't like you

And sometimes, that person is not only toxic, but they make you feel guilty or blame you for something they did wrong. That's not okay. That gun wasn't mine, pal, sorry but I won't take the blame.

But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time
Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time

Life goes on and the things we used to accept no questions asked start to bother us. We get smarter. Harder. Tougher. We learn to say 'no'. To stand up for ourselves. We still stumble and fall, after all, we're only human. But we get up ten times stronger. We rise up from the dead so many times it becomes natural. Call me 'phoenix' from now on.

I've got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined
I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing and should be put into practice. But there's always that name in our list we'll unfortunately have to check more than once. Not everyone can appreciate a second chance. Know the time to say goodbye before you see yourself in a hostage situation in your own life.

Ooh, look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
Look what you just made me do
Look what you just made me
Ooh, look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
Look what you just made me do
Look what you just made me do

You got yourself banished from my life, pal. You made me do this. It was either you or me and I chose myself.

I don't like your kingdom keys
They once belonged to me
You ask me for a place to sleep
Locked me out and threw a feast (what?)

Funny how some people, out of jealousy or spite, knock us down to take our place. And even funnier how, most of the time, those people are there because they took advantage of us. We gave them the kingdom keys. We trusted them. They needed us. And they locked us out.

The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama
But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma
And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure
Maybe I got mine, but you'll all get yours

Ok, revenge is a petty thing. We should not waste our energy on petty things. Especially because there's a little thing called KARMA in this universe of ours. What goes around comes around, remember that. Don't focus on the drama, focus on the karma.

I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me
I'll be the actress starring in your bad dreams
I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me
I'll be the actress starring in your bad dreams
I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me
I'll be the actress starring in your bad dreams
I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me
I'll be the actress starring in your bad dreams

Eventually we learn not to trust anyone. Nobody trusts us anyway, so what's the point? Oh, and remember karma? It makes it difficult for those suckers who betrayed us to sleep. There's a big price to pay when you are not such a good person.

I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now
Why?
Oh, 'cause she's dead!

How many times have you heard from those people who have done you harm that little accusation: "You've changed". No, I haven't changed. The old me is dead, that's all.
