Hey guys, today i decided to do another book related article. This one is going to be more of a recommendation article, all the books i will be talking about are contemporary books that i think are aimed at teens/ young adults. There are definitely more books that could be mentioned so i might do a similar article in the future.
There will be no spoilers in this article.
My Life Next Door ~ Huntley Fitzpatrick
Life in Samantha's home is neat, clean and orderly. Next door at the Garrett's house, things are loud and messy. When Jase Garrett enters Sam's life by climbing up the trellis outside her bedroom, she starts falling in love with him. However she has to hide it from her politician mother, who has always had hatred towards the Garrett's. When something unthinkable happens, Samantha is faced with an impossible decision. What perfect family will save her? Or is it time to save herself?
This is a great book that focuses on first love and family. I love the way Fitzpatrick writes, i really want to read her other book, What I Thought Was True.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower ~ Stephen Chbosky
Charlie's not the biggest geek in high school, but he isn't popular either. He's shy, intelligent and socially awkward, Charlie is a wallflower, standing on the threshold of his life watching everyone else live theirs. He makes some new friends at school who navigate him through life, the world of first dates, mix tapes and family drama.
This book is amazing and so is the film. The film adaptation is so spot on to the book which made me really happy as this is probably one of my favourite books of all time. The book is set out as letter to someone and Charlie is talking about what is going on in his life to someone. The book has a much bigger meaning then just making friends, it shows you what Charlie has gone through in his life and how that has made him who he is. I think everyone should read this book at least once in their life. This is a book i cried at a lot (but i cry at everything).

Since You've Been Gone ~ Morgan Matson
Emily's best friend Sloane disappears, the only thing she left behind was a to-do list for Emily. On it, there was thirteen Sloane-inspired tasks that Emily would never do especially without her best friend. But what if completing the list could bring Sloane back? Emily has the summer to check off everything, the question is, what will she find at the end?
This is a great summer read, i found myself laughing at this book and i most likely cried as well at some points. I love the concept of this book and the way its written.

The DUFF ~ Kody Keplinger
Seventeen year old Bianca knows shes not the hottest or prettiest girl at school, but when Wesley, the school jock casually calls her the DUFF, (Designated Ugly Fat Friend), she takes offense. If there's a thin line between love and hate then Bianca has crossed it. She never thought she was capable of breaking someones heart.
This book is so good and shows people that it doesn't matter what you look like, you should just be yourself. The book and the film are completely different, they have some similarities but there are some things that are different. I think the author did really well with this book and i love her writing style. Her other book LOL (Lying Out Loud) is also really good.

If I Was Your Girl ~ Meredith Russo
Amanda Hardy is the new girl at school. Like everyone else, all she wants to so is make friends and fit in. But Amanda is holding back because she has a secret, that she won't even tell the boy shes falling in love with.
At her old school, she was called Andrew.
Overall i really enjoyed this book and thought it was very interesting to read.
