“The sky is always beautiful. Even when it’s dark or rainy or cloudy, it’s still beautiful to look at… it’ll be there no matter what… and I know it’ll always be beautiful.”
— Dean Holder

I’ve been afraid to read this book for a long time, I guess it was because it dealt with a different topic and that topic scared me a bit. My godmother gave me the Hopeless duology (Hopeless and Finding Hope) as a graduation present and a week ago, I decided to forget the fear of being devastated by this book and I read it.

I am not going to say that it was the best book and because of that everyone should read it, but it was a good and unique book and I believe everyone should read it.

I’m going to tell a bit of the story for the people who have not read this book and then I’ll tell you my thoughts in every single sentence in this book.

We are introduced to a character named Sky as she prepares to go to school for the first time, she’s a 17 year old, but her life is a bit different from other teenagers’. Sky was home schooled, she is not allowed to have a phone, to watch tv or interact with any form of technology due to the fact that her mum doesn’t believe in technology.

Sky wants to go to college but she understands that she need some credits that are only given to her in high school, the plan is to go to school for only a couple of months, get the credits and get out. But, even though she doesn’t want to admit it, going to school becomes a difficult task now that her best friend is studying abroad in Italy during that semester.

Alone, in a school that is full of rumours and mean girls, our main character has to work hard not to let her emotions show, not to let them know how she really feels, I mean, how she doesn’t.

But Sky’s life turns completly upside down as soon as she is “chased” by a guy named Dean Holder in the supermarket, a hopeless boy with a temperamental personallity, that hides a secret that will break her.
