It's going to be autumn soon, and for me living in The Netherlands it means rain, and a lot of it. Most persons love summer or winter because of Christmas and the cosy fires, but I think autumn is underrated. In The Netherlands we don't really celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving, so that makes autumn a little bit less festive.

When I was younger, I hated rain but my mom made it a nice memory. I used to come home smelling like a wet dog and feeling dirty because of all the wet clothes sticking to my skin. Mom helped me getting into dry clothes, poured some tea in my favourite mug and sometimes see lit the fireplace so I could get warm again.

I love it when I have the day off and I lay in bed and wake up with the noise of rain falling down on my window. I feel save because I'm inside and the rain reminds me of being dry and lucky to have a roof above my head.

I love to go for a run in the rain. When the water touches my skin I feel alive. The landscape looks more mysterious and meaningful and the sound is different than it used to be.

It is raining now. I made myself some hot chocolate, lit a candle and watch a movie. I hear the raindrops falling on my window and I feel happy and warm again.
