Hey guys. So I was asked these questions a few days ago and I thought I'd answer it on here too. 'What does God sound like?' and 'How do you here from God?'
People speak and hear from God in different ways but here's few basic ones to start with.
1- THOUGHTS
This is a really common one. Sometimes people get random thoughts and images that spring to mind which don't feel like there own thoughts. It sounds really confusing at first but its happened to me before. I was preying that God would talk to me about something then I got a random thought in my head related to the thing I was preying about. I wasn't sure whether it was just me or whether it was from God so I asked God for some clarification then a few minutes later a Christian person I new came over to me and said they felt like God was saying the same thing to them about me.
2-SONG LYRICS
Sometimes God can speak to us through songs. For me there was a few song lyrics that jumped out at me and I had no idea why. Later on in the week someone had come over to me and said that God had given them the exact same lyrics for me. The lyrics turned out to help me out in a situation I was in at the time
3-NUMBERS
I have a friend who hears from God through numbers. This works for him because he's more of a logical thinker. There is a certain number that God will give him when God speaks to him. If God is trying to speak to him usually a certain number will appear in the circumstance. It's sort of like reassurance from God. This number thing has never happened to me but God speaks to people in different ways.
God is always trying to talk to you, you just have to try and open your heart to him. By opening your heart I mean sort of waiting and listening for him, letting God in.
