Is a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment. After School has an admission-graduation system, where members are added or withdrawn in a "natural" manner. The group currently consists of five members: Raina, Nana, Lizzy, E-Young and Kaeun.

The group is ranked number five in Billboard's list of the "Top 10 K-Pop Girl Groups Of The Past Decade"!

9 - Miss A

Is a South Korean girl group based in South Korea formed by JYP Entertainment in 2010. Their group name stands for Miss Asia and the highest rank, A.The group currently composed of three members: Suzy, Fei and Min. Originally a four-piece group (with Jia, who later departed from the group in May 2016 after her contract expiration).

They with their single "Bad Girl Good Girl."and received first place in the on KBS Music Bank, becoming the fastest girl group to take the #1 spot on a music show.

8 - Brown eyed girl

Often abbreviated as B.E.G., BG, is a South Korean girl group managed by Mystic Entertainment. The group consists of four members: JeA, Miryo, Narsha, and Gain. They cemented their position in the K-pop world in 2009 with "Abracadabra", with its electronica-based genre, pioneering (albeit controversial) concept, along with its iconic and now globally recognized dance entitled 'The Arrogant .

Their iconic dance was also used in one of the most famous PSY's songs "Gentleman"!

7 - T-ara

Is a South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by MBK Entertainment (formerly known as Core Contents Media). Their most well-known lineup featured Boram, Qri, Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon.

T-ara gained nationwide recognition after releasing "Roly-Poly" in 2011, which went on to become the Gaon chart's best-selling single of the year.

6 - Sistar

Was a South Korean girl group formed in 2010 by Starship Entertainment. The group consisted of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou, and Dasom.Their fourth single, "So Cool," debuted at number one at Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 singles chart.

Was a five-member South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment. The members of the group were Nam Ji-hyun, Heo Ga-yoon, Jeon Ji-yoon, Kim Hyun-a, and Kwon So-hyun

The group received the Bonsang Award at the 20th Seoul Music Awards, and the Kpop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards.

4 - 2NE1

2ne1, CL, and minzy image

Was a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. First appearing in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics. The members were: CL, Dara, Minzy and Pak Bom. Their first EP spawned the number-one single "I Don't Care", which won them the "Song of the Year" award at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their follow-up singles, such as "Go Away", "Lonely" and "I Am the Best", were similarly successful, with "I Am the Best" winning 2NE1 their second "Song of the Year" award in 2011.

As of 2015, they have sold 66.5 million records, making them one of the best selling girl groups of all time.

3 - Kara

It was a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's final lineup was composed of Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Goo Hara and Heo Youngji. Members Nicole Jung and Kang Ji-young officially departed from the group in 2014, while Kim Sung-hee left in 2008. The group's name comes from the Greek word "chara" (χαρά, lit. "joy"), which they interpreted to mean "sweet melody".

After finding national success, the group began to expand their music to Japan and managed to sell over one million physical singles within two years, making them one of the fastest-selling South Korean acts in Japan.

2 - Wonder Girls

Was a South Korean girl group and band formed by producer Park Jin-young under JYP Entertainment in 2006, which debuted in 2007.The group's final line-up consisted of Yubin, Yeeun, Sunmi and Hyerim. Members Sunye and Sohee officially left the group in 2015, while Hyuna left in late 2007

Wonder Girls are known as "South Korea's Retro Queens", as their music has been noted to contain elements from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s

1 - Girls' Generation

Also known as SNSD, is a South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment. The group is composed of eight members: Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun. Originally a nine-piece group (with Jessica, who later departed from the group in September 2014), Girls' Generation debuted in 2007 but it was not until 2009 that the group rose to fame with the single "Gee", which claimed the top spot on KBS's Music Bank for a record-breaking nine consecutive weeks and was named the most popular song of the 2000s in South Korea by Melon.

This group totally deserve to be called the "National Girl Group"!
