Have you ever thought to yourself a lot, "When will I be like my friends?", "When will I ever find the right one?", or "Will I ever get one?" and so on.

Of course we all have thought about that a lot, no doubt. And yes, the author of this article really does like to ponder a lot regarding relationships, and even to the extent where one will fear of the future, fear of not getting on a relationship and not find the right one.

To be honest, it does, it does make me sad, seeing my close friends have partner and having people to ask me from time to time, "When are you getting one?" or someone would friendly tease me "come here, don't FIFTH-WHEEL " , yes, when I was in high school, two of my close friends had partners. Ironically, my first year university roommate also had a partner, so I was always that extra wheel for 3 years straight. I found it really funny as well, i felt lonely but not lonely as well at the same time.

Haha, yeah

I was frustrated, I was sad, I was worried.. I was paradoxical, I knew I was not ready for relationship but at the same time I wanted so badly, I wanted to feel what all my other friends are feeling, I wanted to know how does it feel like to have someone by your side in times of distress and difficulties. Without having to endure everything alone. Someone to be able to help you in carrying your heavy groceries, yes, this was based on my very real-life experience. I am physically quite petite and short, so carrying heavy groceries could be bothersome at some time (I'M STRONGER THAN YOU THINK BTW hehe), and i felt jealous that my roommate got her boyfriend to helped with all her heavy groceries. I felt terrible.

But one thing that kept on pondering in my mind every single time before I went to bed, "I don't think i'm ready", "i'm not ready", "i was never ready for serious relationship"... I even told God that I am truly not ready, and God knows that. He knows me better than I know myself.

Let me tell you something about feelings, feelings is an illusion. They are not REAL, they are only short-term . Feelings can deceive you, thinking it is for the great, but it really isn't.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?

- Jeremiah 17: 9

We tend to put feelings and relationship together, but let's take the example of the feelings of failing in an important test in your school , obviously we feel wrecked, hopeless, sad, & mad after knowing we have had failed such important test. With the spirit of motivation, dedication and working really hard for the next round, turned out you got a perfect 100/100 score, you feel happy, proud & just overjoyed. Same goes with relationship, if you are not ready, you will not make it & feelings are just illusions, it can deceive you.

love, bible, and patient image

Remember:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
